As mentioned If you can keep the spool vertical when casting. I think it was put as keeping the handles up. It really helps. Practice makes perfect. On a windy day it can still cause fits. -
Most of the kill circuits are grounds. I would check from the kill circuit to the ground with an ohm meter. If the kill switch it tripped it should complete the circuit showing close to 0 ohms

How did you access Campbell Bridge. Hwy N is closed south of Bourbon, by Blue Springs until May 17th. Way to stick with it and find the fish.
