ok here is my dilemma. i live in mansfield which is a hour away from any decent fishing. i love to catch white bass. and i have been catching word of whites in fellows and mcdanials . i dont have a boat but i can get to fellows in like 45 minutes. is there anywhere i can bank fish for whites on fellows or mcdanials or in between? i would greatly appreciate any help.

when do the whites usually start running ?

i would love to see hybrids in every lake in missouri. they would reach giant sizes in the taneycomo

good luck! there are alot of lakes around you that have stripers but they are pretty hard to catch unless you have a boat. your best bet is to find a good striper guide on the missouri or mississippi or a close lake. if i would have invested all the money ive spent bank fishing for these fish into a guided trip i might have caught one by now. ive spent countless hours on the banks of tecumpseh an powersite dam trying to catch one of those bad boys and still never hooked one. i hope you have better luck!

has anyone caught any walleye or stripers around udall yet? i have never caught a decent sized fish of either species and have been trying for a while. I dont have a boat and i live an hour away so any info would be greatly appreciated.

i second that about the hybrids on BS! Maybe they should include them on the striper proposal.

ive never really caught any decent stripers. lots of big hybrids. is there a place to fish the bank on those rivers? ive done quite a bit of research though and the stripers should start running up river in mid feb. to mid march. i think its just one of those things you have to be on top of to be there at the right time.

i went to the stump hole and its super low. but walked down to the bend and caught 2 keeper eyes a nice small jaw and a little kentucky before it started raining. the key was slowwww. probably took 5 minures to retrieve a cast. but it turned out well for the short time i was able to fish. first good rain that muddles up the river should bring the stripers. i wouldn't normally tell what i used but being as how only fairly serious fisherman are the only ones that are reading this. i was using an eighth ounce pink jighead with a smelt gulp minnow. hope my report was useful. good fishin everyone.

try a zara spook. yellow or pearl. these are deadly at daylight and dark. also try dragging a gulp minnnow (yellow or smelt not watermelon pearl) through the school very slow. if there are any bigger ones below the school they will key in on that minnow. and like the other guys said live bait. i like to use just the bait though. letting the minnow or shad swim freely tends to be more effective for me
