  1. I fished the Tournament and won most fish! WHEE!!! Anyways we fished Copper Johns I won it with only 14 fish... I guess thats good... The biggest was 14 and the first was 8 minutes after we started. In a nutshell was a great day I got a pretty little trophy and met some cool people.
  2. Ok Tippit is the material that you tye onto the end of your leader. Talk to someone that is really knowledgeable about this type of thing I hear that Leonard knows almost everything... I normally use scuds when I get a chance to go up... I did really good on a chamois worm (a scud hook with a small strip of chamois on it... tyed like a san juan worm.) When it comes to tippet I say it all depends on what your fishing for and how big your fly is... I think the normal size of a fly on Taneycomo is between 6-22. (correct? If not sombody please correct me.) But I found that, that particular rod was very hard for me to cast... Im not sure why But I use the next step up from walmart for trout... You will also need to buy backing for your rod 20lb is what most trout anglers use... Thats all I have to say Good luck with fly fishing!!!! Dont give up if you mess up... Also its really good to go out into a open space with a peice of yarn on your tippet or an open pond is also really good. Bye!
  3. We were thinking about going down to Bonaire for mine and my moms B-days (about 20 days apart) and were gonna go diving. I was gonna try to fly fish some... If anyone has ever been to Bonaire would you please give me a link to what Ill need for flyfishing and also can you tell me what the heck a Salt pan is? I kinda thinks its a flat but, Im not sure thanks!
  4. Umm I live in Oklahoma... But I do have permission to fish a pond and all it has in it is Grass Carp and I wanted to try and fly fish for these critters. Thanks MoCarp

  7. Anyone ever fished for stripers Below the Fort Gibson Dam? I had a good friend tell me last year that they came up there in the middle of winter and you could catch them on a fly rod that is all that this man will fish with and is an excellent teacher taught me almost everything I know about fly fishing (how to read water and where a fish is possibly holding Also how to cast and not to brag but for a 14 year old Ive been told im pretty good...) But anyways Thanks!
  8. Ok... Went straight to the pool right beside the first parking lot... Caught 1 in about 30 mins. After that I went up a little ways and found a TON of fish Midging. Caught one went on. Went behind the Island and found that it was getting rather dark... Next thing I know I hear a big PFFT! Looked up and there was a bunch of humungous deer.(Wish I was fishing for the deer woulda put a heck of a fight)... Cast a big black woolly bugger and caught about a 11-12" brown Overall I give this time a big
  9. I personally like the Blue river Lumbar/chest pack from fishpond very light and has alot of storage I can shoe my camera extra flybox and a water with couple extra leaders the only bad thing is...Well I havent found a bad thing about it... You can find it at river run nice price, comfortable. I enjoy my new pack
  10. Well yet another Fishing report.... Went and got there went straight down from the first parking lot to the waterfall... Cast a rather large Olive woolly bugger upstream and let it drift, nothing saw one of em chase it. Went down to the next riffle saw some fish midgeing, Caught two small browns the first one was about 10". Went back up to the parking lot and fished in the big pool right there fished a crackleback with a small midge about 6" under it... Caught a couple of bows biggest about 16" was pretty good...

  21. I made an egg sucking leech pattern and all it is is a little bit of red dubbing with some black marabou that was twisted and then a tail out of marabou...
  22. Well I just got back from the Woodsman and the man there said it was ok but it went up a wt or 2... but I made an Egg sucking leech type thingamobopper... and so I guess Ill post it somewhere. Thanks
  23. aabout a foot off of the top is all that is missing. Im going to Fort Smith here in a little while and im going to go into the woodsman and show it to them. The man that I talked to said that there was going to be a man come in and he would take a look at it. But for a 5wt would you want to go ahead and use a heavier lb backing? or would 12lb work? As for a reel ive not got much money for a new reel. I was just going to go ahead and buy a Phluegar medalist I have one on my 6wt and it works beautifully on larger trout. thanks!
  24. Hey can you tell me what ever they need (flies) and Ill be happy to make them thanks
  25. My friend went down to the trash and found an LLBean fly rod all that was wrong with it was it had a small bit missing... I asked him how much he wanted for it (he has never fly fished) and he said just take it (we argued and I won so I payed him and we left) but now I neeed a new line and reel and suggestions? its a 5 weight... Thanks guys!
