I've heard some things about stripers up there.
Something about the big 2/0 hooks with the bucktail and chenille in a line with a sinker on the bottom and tossing it upstream and jigging it down. But if you go to the mouth of the Illinois river they sit in that transition area sometimes.
Webber has a boat ramp right there in town. If you put in and head upstream you can get to the dam in just a few minutes.
I know a lot of guys mainly fish it for catfish but and sometime Walleye are in the rocks under the dam. Other than that I'm clueless lol
Back in the day when my father and I fished it for Stripers I know we could bring a bass boat all the way up to the cable without having to dodge rocks. So I'd say it's pretty darn deep.
Fort Gibson is okay to wade when the water's off. If you've got a little paddle boat you can really get into some good fishing over there.
Hey guys!
The Northeast Oklahoma Fly-Fishers is going to do the One-Fly on January 8th. We always have some chili to eat and a fire to hang around to warm yourselves up.
For 5$ you get all the chili you can eat and a fly to fish with. Only the person who tied the fly knows what it is and it will be unveiled that morning. You can buy as many as you'd like and fish any part of the river you want. It starts at 9 a.m.
I hope to see a good amount of you guys down there as it is a fun event!
Good luck to all!
If you've got a legitimate reply to something I say then we're going to be cool. But if you're going to be childish about the whole situation then we're not gonna float the same boat.
Nah, I still have my rough days out here. Fish can be tricky no matter who/where you are.
But the current? Just use lighter flies. It's kinda hard through the winter because most of the time we have a good bit of wind for whatever reason.
And I'm resorting to wets much of the time anymore. They're pretty awesome in this water.
I could call the pot whatever I'd like. Therefore that pot could be a live-trap.
I didn't what? Know what I was talking about? This was started by me saying Carp are a gamefish then others jump on me for disagreeing with their god's book. (MDC)
Man, it sure what fun verbally abusing each other with you. But I believe I'm going to drop this. It's Christmas time and I'm pretty bored with this. Maybe we could start another thread in the spring about the best way to wrestle some bears.
See you then!

You like to pick and choose don't you??
