Thanks to the moderating team for stepping in. I try my very best to leave politics out of my posts. Good thing because my views of them might start and angry monkey poo slinging match no one should have to clean up that kinda mess LOL.
I'll only say this much. I seen enough on the lakes and RIVERS here, that I carry. I will always try to get away from a situation like this but, if left no other option I will use it. Is it a gun, taser, pepper spray, or a trained attack duck? the only person that will know for sure, is the person who puts themself in the place to find out. PEOPLE ARE BAT CRAP CRAZY THESE DAYS. Be prepared to defend yourself, at ALL TIMES!
Well the hunt for Dr. Evil continues. I hit the lake at just after 4 am. caught a 15 incher the first cast. TODAY THE TOP WATER ACTION WAS ON FIRE!!!!! Caught 12 total. They ranged from just under 10 inches to the best one 18 inches. When he hit I thought I had my long saught after Dr. Evil. NOPE. Met another forum member on my way back to my rig. Forgot the name but a dang nice guy.
Today the frogs were hot until sunrise. At sunup the Heddon black and silver torpedo was what they wanted. Sad part is, even though I caught 12 I missed more strikes than landed. MY BEST DAY EVER AT SPRINGFIELD LAKE In at 4 am out at 9:30. I'll be back out Sat. unless the wife wants to fish up at Crieghton access. Hmmm fly fishing for smallies up there might be a good time.
Since I work 4 - 10 hour shifts, I have Fridays off to fish. I'd like to float the James from Crieghton Access to Springfield lake. The problem is of course I need a vehicle at each end. If you wanna give this float a try, let me know and we can work out the date and details. Other close by floats are an option also.
Tomorrow the hunt for that big ol bass "Dr. Evil" continues. I will be one the lake before dawn. Hope everyone can get a line wet this weekend, Good luck to you all. I'll report tomorrow
I do very good at springfirld lake. Top water is what I do the best on. I do have a few special spots and tricks I use that vary from the way the masses say to use them. If you are fishing from the bank, you tube the "float and fly" I have used it with good resukts. Good luck out there
the seat on the fs10 is the best part of that kayak. I have sat in it for over 6 hours and could have gone much longer. Also forgot to mention I am 51 years old and have had MANY injuries. Hope you find what your lookin for
just the way I like 'em. i found a good method of getting those bass to come out and play. This time last year I was bringing a bass in about every 10 casts. for me a better spot has been up where the "Y" comes together. The grass just off the point of that Y has been holding some nice fish. texas rig a zoom red with blue sparkle NO WEIGHT, let it fall natural short jigs every few seconds. Of course ya got to get there early before the people with motors drive them away. I have had people motor past within a few feet of me????? I know i will start a real crap storm here but that lake should be NO MOTORS ALLOWED. My opinion anyhow
Well I been away from Springfield lake now for two weeks. This week however I plan on getting some afterwork bassin in. I have a spot on my wall ready to hang that freshly mounted bass I call Dr. Evil.( IF I EVER CATCH HIM) I am planning on buying a go pro camera and posting some of these hard hitting top water strikes on youtube. I'll keep ya posted. HAPPY FISHIN EVERYONE
WELL we had a great time. The float trip from Alley to Eminence was beutiful (except for all the beer cans sunk to the bottom along the river )
people are ***ing pigs. My buddy found the winning bait small red and brown crawdads on 1/8 ounce jig heads. we caught smallies up to 13.5 inches, Goggle eye also liked 'em. We were in at 6:30 am out at noon. Stopped several times along the way for pics and to fish some nice holes. A GREAT TIME!!!!!!!! I am impressed how hard them smallies fight. They make largemouth look kinda wimpy.
Well bought some zoom worms, crawfish and some beetle spins to add to the tackle box. Talked to a guy that killed 'em last weekend on purple with blue flake. Also taking the fly fishin gear. I'll let ya know how we do.
hey folks, heading to Ally springs camp ground this weekend 7/11 - 7-14. I never fished this area and am looking for advice on what lures, plastics, rigging styles, etc. are working in that area. Keep in mind I release ALL my fish so they can be caught another day. Just looking to catch a few while floating the Jacks. Any advice would be very helpful. Thanks all.
Just bought a fishfinder!!!!! humminbird 160 portable. Headed out in the AM to give it a go This thing is perfect for us paddlers battery and charger included. if your on springfield lake stop by and say howdy.
Well after living here for 11 years I finally broke down and bought the permit for my kayak. $20 wasted. not one fish. Day before went to Springfield lake, caught 5 in a couple of hours. Cost me nothing. Doubt I'll ever renew the fellows permit.
