  1. Not knocking the Ascend as I have never been in one. My opinion is to save your pennies and get a "proven" kayak. NuCanoe, Wilderness, Jackson, Native, Ocean Kayaks, and Hobie are all quality kayaks that will have a model to fit your needs. If it's possible, try to test drive some before you buy. If standing to fish matters to you, most of the kayaks I mentioned all have a model that you can stand in. I have a NuCanoe Frontier and a 10 ft NuCanoe that offer numerous seat options, standing ability, room for two people if needed, lots of room for gear. Whatever you decide, have fun.
  2. I fish North Lake Harrisonville, Lone Jack Lake, Watkins Mill Kearney, Maple Leaf Higginsville. I'm going to venture out and try some new ones this year. There are loads of them within 75 miles of the house. I DON"T fish the Jackson County lakes. I have been questioned about my sticker once. Didn't even have my kayak in the water. Won't happen again. Plus, too many boats and jet skis. I try to stay on water that does not allow big motors. "Dinosaur" you ask? I'm over 50, it's an old joke. So does everyone go elsewhere to kayak fish? I'm just trying to get a feel on how many folks kayak/canoe fish in the area.
  3. Anyone? I fish most of the MO state lakes around the KC area and haven't seen any other paddlers out.
  4. Hi everyone. Code name "dinosaur" here. Live in the KC area. Been kayak fishing for 4 yrs now. I've owned 4 kayaks, currently have 2. I've got a 10 ft NuCanoe, and a 12 ft NuCanoe Frontier. Like to bass fish. Discovered this website while searching for some kayak fishing folks in MO. Glad to be with some MO folks and look forward to posting info as it pertains to kayak fishing.
