  1. Danna's is much better, and so is Famous Dave's for that matter
  2. YES....when I go home to see the folks, I usually get my chicken and onion ring fix done at one of those establishments....there are also two other good places around that area to get fried chicken, one is Gebhardt's (about two miles out in the country further that Annies and Mary's) and Barto's, which is in the little town of Frontenac.........good stuff!
  3. I second Bryant's on 18th and Brooklyn.....good stuff
  4. This is info. from a few years back in my sketchy memory, but........ I've occasionally caught several crappie in and around (a half mile or so) the bridge at Shell Knob in the real early spring (early March)......I just used to hit some timber just off of the main lake into some of the few coves there, usually would find them at a certain depth and play hit and miss with them for a while....sometimes I could close in on a limit, sometimes a few here and there, and sometimes zilch........the other place I had luck in the early spring was up the roaring river arm near Eagle Rock
  5. Stubblefield is a Missouri Conservation access upstream from the Jenkins bridge, and quite a ways upstream from the hwy. 39 bridge....the conservation department has a brown sign on a road turning off of hwy. 248 near Jenkins, near a large rock quarry....seems like from the turn off, you have to wind back through there around 2-3 miles or so to get to the access
  6. I recently moved from that neck of the woods, and I really miss it......as far as the drunks/druggies, I never personally had any problems at the Stubblefield area, but I can see some folks making trouble down there....I personally ran in to more of that sort around the old bridge at Jenkins. Fishing, at times though, is really fun around that area. As far as trout, I and many others have caught some further upstream, most likely escapees from the Cassville trout farm. However, downstream, I heard that there may be some trout from Little Flat Creek, which I believe flows into the stream around the little town of McDowell. However, I cannot personally confirm that, because I have never caught a trout downstream from there. I need to take a day trip so I can feel a smallie tugging at my line!
  7. Shell Knob area has some good places to "dig in"....First would be Steak Inn, which has awesome steaks and a huge salad bar. Next would be BJ's, which has some pretty good BBQ
  8. I would second the fellow who mentioned the Sac River....I floated around in the Stockton area once, and caught quite a few nice smallies closer to the lake dam....the further we got from the dam, the less smallies, though. Vaught quite a few spots, largemouth, and sunfish to keep us busy
  9. According to the Monett Times, Jolley Mill Park received some major damage from the storms the other night. http://www.monett-times.com/NF/omf/monett/...=0025694+cr=gdn
  10. Thanks Lilley.....Just giving fishrman "the business" because we live and work pretty close to each other
  11. How come I am not your buddy anymore? I would love to have a limit of crappie too.
  12. c-priest, there is a WalMart Supercenter in Cassville on hwy 37
