Thanks for the info guys! Can anyone tell me what part of the park exactly I should fish though? I haven't been here before and will be trying to make the most out of a one day trip. Im also going to fish the mermac river just below the park.

Ok well I am fifteen years old and about to take up fly fishing. Never done this before but always wanted to. My first trip will be to mermac spring and the red ribbon area below it around christmas time. I'm looking for some tips on what to use and how to present it to the trout. Looking forward to fly fishing a lot on Christmas break!

Anybody been bassin at Busch latley? I'm going tomorrow and still trying to decide which lakes to hit. Also are the catch and release only lakes any good?

Next weekend I'm heading out to fish upper and lower black river near clear water lake. I know upper is best for smallmouth and lower im not sure about but I know there's walleye in there. Does anyone have any tips or lures/baits for me to try while I'm out there???

Went out to mallard lake in creve coeur yesterday evening to do some bass fishing. As soon as I saw the lake I noticed lots of action and big splashing. So I tossed in my lure and as I was reeling my lure would bounce off fish in the water. I had no bites at all. However, next cast I tried a different approach and tried snagging the fish that I kept feeling. I was successful but my catch was an Asian carp. My guess is the whole lake has been taken over. But has anyone ever fished at mallard and caught anything decent besides an Asian carp? Let me know. Thanks

Thanks for the advice. Spanish lake is a little far away but sounds good. I'm also gonna check out the one in des Peres. Do you guys mean the one by the baseball fields in des Peres park or am I thinking of a different pond?

Hey everyone I'm new to this forum and was wondering if anyone knew of any above average bass fishing waters in or near st Louis mo. I fish all the time and have been to many ponds and lakes in my area. Sure I catch fish but a lot of times the bass are unhealthy or the fishing is unusually slow because of all the pressure. Any suggestions?

Hey what did you use to catch the bowfin? Also I fished at Columbia bottom off of a dam and caught sturgeon, drum, small catfish, and Asian carp.
