If you were watching 40/29, I was the boat that was launching during that piece. Lots of cameras at PC on Friday for some reason.

Finally got to paddle today. We hit a small SW MO stream. 5 of us had right at 70 bronze backs if our counts were right. One 18 incher, a handful of 14/15's. everything else small. Temp dropped late in the day and shut our bite off but all together a beautiful day to be out.

Fished most of the day from PC to Rocky Branch. 8 fish, 7 of them were spots. Just picked one up here and there. Jerkbaits and warts. Surprisingly shallow. Less than 10 FOW. Late in the day found some 55 degree water.

I have a Humminbird 798ci down/side imaging unit for sale. I understand may want to stay w/ Lowrance if you already have the HDS. Bought mine new last spring.

I'm also headed out tomorrow. I'm gonna launch at PC and just see how the day goes.

I have done many many overnight and weekend trips on the Buffalo. For an all around good time, I recommend Carver to Tyler's Bend. Easy float, good fishing and really good scenery with Skull Bluff and the Nars. It borders a wildlife mgmt area for about half of the float and there are plenty of access points along the way in case you have trouble. The fishing is better the further down river you go. My next choice would be anything from or between Gilbert to Rush. Rush to the White is good but there are lots of long pools to paddle if current is low and absolutely no access. If something went wrong or weather came up, you have no choice but to ride it out.

Thanks for the info. Any word on water clarity in the river arm? Good bite or not, I can't pass up a day like this coming Friday. Gotta be getting active. I enjoy a good jerkbait bite but ready to throw something else. I usually don't seek out the whites but will fish them if I stumble upon 'em.

Planning on hitting the lake Friday. Anybody heard anything? What is the water clarity like up river from the hwy 12 bridge? Got a brother n law coming in that I would like to get some action. I hope this weather picks the bite up some.

Chance of some halfway warm rain coming this weekend and then good temps most of next week might turn the bite on.

Anybody getting out paddling for some bronze backs this weekend? I'm stuck w/ honey-dos, but planning a trip for next Saturday in SW MO, if the weather holds up.
