  1. Took off work early today to see if I could catch a few whites. I crossed the Orleans bridge and walked down to the end of the small island and managed to catch 5 on a slider. This was a pearl slider that I dyed purple. When I first started, around 9:30 the bites were short so I would pinch the 3" sliders in half. Around noon I moved down the river to where there was some fresh water flowing in and was able to catch 8 more on a 3" bubble gum slider. These were hitting much harder than the ones I caught early. Several of the whites had the whole slider in the mouth. The water is up and dingy. I was focusing my efforts on areas of slack water out of the main current. Should be a good weekend. Get out and enjoy it.
  2. The orleans bridge was packed last night with people. I went after work. Started at the first bend below taylors, managed to catch several LM but no whites. So I went to the orleans bridge and managed to catch 5 before dark. There was a couple of guys left of me that had a whole stringer full of whites and I saw several other people with fish. All of my fish came on a purple flake swimming minnow on 1/8 head. Long cast with a slow retrieve running bait just off the bottom was working for me. Water is low and dingy and the banks are muddy. Hope everyone has a fantastic fishing weekend, it should be a good one.
  3. Hey Guys, New to the forum. Me and my buddy fished the mouth of flat creek all the way up to mccord bend. We had 7 short bass and one keeper crappie. This was our first trip this year and even though we did not slay em' and we did get rained on, it was still fun being out on the water. Maybe next weekend?
