  1. Kevin at this site could probably help you. http://www.riverpro-boats.com/
  2. damsel did they say why they picked Fellows? Does it posses some unique feature, or was it a random pick because of its size and proximity to Pomme?
  3. Is it an ongoing program, or has it been abandoned? My Son lives in Fair Grove and both he and and my grandson have caught Bass over 8# in a "pond" there.
  4. True, but with little hope of receiving a permit to build one I'm sure research is non-existent.
  5. Al we are market driven and that is written in stone. You bring up Ethanol and Corn, but Ethanol was brought into the market to get rid of Corn, not to make fuel. I agree that corn isn't the best raw resource, but for Missouri and states that are producing the bulk of Ethanol it is. If the plains states would start making it from Prairie Grass, corn farmers would be scrambling to produce cheap corn, and cheap corn is likely to be environmentally friendly. Auto companies? The flex engines in Brazil are American, its not a lack of technology, it a lack of fuel, which means no market for the cars. Instead of bashing oil companies for high profits, they should be given incentives to invest in alternate fuels, after all they have the storage and delivery systems already in place. You do this with tax incentives, not by bashing people who mention the word. The people have the power, they have just lost the ability to use it wisely.
  6. Its true Al that that statement might be a little narrow, but I don't think its wrong that if a cure requires sacrifice, those exempt from the sacrifice, but not the gain, are most vocal. js, I think your abortion example is a good example of the process. There is no forced abortion, the choices are whether you have the right. Those who oppose abortion are exempt. The present debate over gasoline formulas is a good example. The cost is outweighing the benefits, at least to the average consumer. The search for alternative fuels is picking up speed and the cost of oil, not just in dollars but in many ways, is becoming too expensive and insecure. The wheels have been set in motion, and even the leaders in Iran and Venezuela can see the handwriting on the wall, hence their bid for more power before they lose the only chips they have.
  7. I think the bottom line isn't what they're called, but the fact that there is an industry built around pursuing them.
  8. Well I had to look. It seems the Palmetto Bass is a Striper egg fertilized with White bass sperm. The opposite is the Sunshine Bass, White Bass egg, etc. Apparently the Palmetto is the most popular, but I didn't find anything suggesting that one grew faster or larger than the other. The World Record, according to the Kansas site, is 27 lbs 5 ozs.
  9. I hope they survive.
  10. It crosses, what there is of it, south of Verona.
  11. The most public land is in the flood pools on the south ends, thats where I'd look.
  12. Is it that pole framed building in front of that house? If it has the minnow variety that Bob's had it should do alright.
  13. As big an advantage as that is, it doesn't compare to the advantage during a Shad kill.
  14. "Send 'em back to Texas" does sound like it could be a hit for Asleep At The Wheel, what rhymes with Armadillo?
  15. Aside from equipment, I would visit Lilley's, and the fly shops at the dam. I know they are all very helpful and have up to date information. You're coming at a great time weather wise and you should have a great trip.
  16. Don, in my experience, the stockers do better when marinated and smoked whole. You might try adding some salt to your recipe and then thinning it to allow the trout to marinate. Just a thought.
  17. There are 2 hybrids, based on the gender of the parents and I believe one gets a lot larger then the other. They have specific names, but they escape me at the present.
  18. You'll have to pass some good Trout water to get there.
  19. Those are getting harder and harder to find.
  20. The biggest problem I've had with the "Greeners" is that as a rule they are either well off or have little ambition except to hide behind a cause. The vast majority of the cures hit the economy and the middle and lower classes head on and would plunge this country into economic chaos. The cure has to be palatable Its popular to bring up Kyoto, but in fact it was a suicide pact for the American economy, which is probably why only one prominent politician supported it. When the world decides to do something, then, and only then can the US move faster and harder to wards balancing our own emission problems.
  21. I agree with that, I think they have evolved on to a level with deer. My own thinking would be that the listing would probably be Turkey Quail Pheasant Other Upland Birds Ducks and Geese Other Migratory birds
  22. I can remember when it was very unusual to see one in southern Oklahoma. I wonder how low a temperature they can endure, and for how long?
  23. I've always found it tough, but I suspect its because the fish move out into the strongest current, to pick off what gets dislodged.
  24. I believe thats in our friend mwkojack's backyard? Hope he weathered it ok.
  25. I like your idea Phil, it follows the Ozarkangler theme of being somewhat specific. I think this forum is unique in the fact that it avoids the occasional reference from being lost to the more popular subjects. There is no other forum that, that I'm aware of, that details the great resources of the region.
