  1. RR, if the need for more Sammy's strikes you, don't overlook getting them from Japan on E-Bay. I've probably given around $12 for mine, and they have more colors.
  2. Yeah I hate get into the changes that Sam Welch and Jim Rogers brought to Bennett in the late 70's early 80's. But it wasn't for the good in my opinion, not from a patron stand point, maybe from from a financial point though.
  3. This is what I was wondering about. I don't think it would be to far off to think that many fish moved to areas of survivable water and hunkered down.
  4. Does he think it will flush out eventually?
  5. Lincoln, do you think the unusual weather pattern has had a big effect on the fishing?
  6. "pour concrete over it". Wouldn't want that, it would only compound the problems, vegatation is the only reasonable ground cover.
  7. I agree, but its been going on for as long as I can remember, and thats a lot of years. Complaints, backed up by facts, might get some attention from the DNR. I doubt that the park super would give it any consideration because the mentality of Bennett is to spend all the money on building condos and cabins, and maintaining them.
  8. I suppose now everyone will find out who Benny Doyal "knows", or doesn't know.
  9. They love worms, just don't know why you would mess with the bony things. Without the riverside experience, they lose some appeal, at least to me.
  10. This was my question as I read your post John. If this guys goes belly up over his indiscretion, then maybe others won't emulate it on other waters.
  11. He probably put in at Cooper, and you probably should have flattened the tires on the trailer.
  12. I would be up for the seminar, if nothing unavoidable gets in the way.
  13. I'm sure the lack of any predictable schedule is a product of being unable to store AC electricity. Its a commodity that has to be used when its created.
  14. You might be right Greg, but those canniabals would sure get big. I suspect the MDC looks at it from the standpoint that few will, and that way no one will complain that they aren't allowed a chance to "catch" a big fish.
  15. 5 feet would wipe out the east side of the pothole, bank access at Barker hole, the accessible water on Swan for Whites, push the bank fishing too far back at Beaver to be worthwhile, and thats at normal pool. I would imagine that Slough Hollow might go even before Shadow Rock. I also suspect that many on here don't understand the significance of Shadow Rock and how much usage it gets.
  16. Ah, I was just curious, and making sure you weren't talking about grabbing. To compete nowadays you need a triple bank of Metal Halides and a generator.
  17. I see no harm in keeping the legal fish on the bottom end, but please don't be one of those who kill a 20 incher just because you can. I still don't understand MDC's mentality in allowing the harvesting of fish that old, and which in Taney have probably been released numerous times, furnishing untold numbers of smiles.
  18. I'm not against Minimum Flow, but the impact on just the upper end of of Bull Shoals would be pretty drastic. I wonder why it has have a 5 foot increase in the power pool? I was always under the impression that power pool was a figure a certain level below flood pool and both were dependent on the elevation of the dam. These dams weren't built, or at least they weren't billed as power producing dams such as those on the Columbia. They were built to control flooding, and it would seem that a little power pool could be sacrificed occasionally to avoid any more negative impact.
  19. You guys need to get out more.
  20. Good idea, in fact if I don't see something shortly, I think I will call and ask why.
  21. What rocks? One way to "stake" here is to lay a stake, dowel, what ever between the tent and the pole and lay something heavy over it, like a rock if you can find one.
  22. They're comparable to your average park fish.
  23. I never said I wasn't guilty
  24. I was thinking that unless things have changed, there are no "companies" making jigs. I do have to ask fish bork, if you are new at it, how do you intend to use them? Giggers I've known have a sizable investment in equipment.
