  1. I agree loo10, but Branson used to be a unique family entertainment destination, now its rapidly turning into a giant shopping center.
  2. Clean and gill, spray with olive oil, lay on AL foil and sprinkle with seasoning of your choice, wrap in the foil and grill on a hot grill or bed of charcoal about 3 minutes and then 2. I like Basil and Garlic on them.
  3. You can also run hot tap water over the spool to warm the line. If the line isn't twisted much it will take a new set.
  4. I have to disagree Sam, we are bordered by 8 other states and if we didn't follow some possession limit, I would think it would be a nightmare for the agents.
  5. Why not Phil? It will do more for many in Branson than the competition created by the Landing.
  6. I think he should have been ticketed, we shouldn't have to pay for his mistake in making to many "One more casts".
  7. I agree that if they are abandoned, they're trash.
  8. We're old, but we ain't slow.
  9. Yeah, I was going to call crappiefisherman a cheapskate at 750K. I think the problems are just beginning, this is contrary to the original concept, but I have to admit its well within the trend. The mega shopping, the problems that conventions are sure to bring, and the list goes on. They best hope that the change that killed Rockaway doesn't kill Branson, but they can't do anything about the lakes, so our friends like Phil and Bill will survive.
  10. I agree Phil, but I would add one more,"Leave no Trash" or what ever gets the message across in their language.
  11. I'll get on my soap box here and once again say that I believe the state needs some type of "Strike Force" to police areas that need a lot of attention, areas that take up too much of the county agents time.
  12. Snow Fly if you go here it will tell all, and let you makes reservations on those available. Missouri State Parks There are also some Corp campgrounds also. Just depends on how far you want to drive.
  13. Welcome BWO, and I even know where Yukon is.
  14. What makes you think that? If anything it appears the whole lake is becoming more fertile. Its not just Springfield that has exploded, but northwest Arkansas as well. The lake in the Dam area is no where near as clear as it was 20-30 years ago, and it had changed then.
  15. A marine dealer in Lebanon had a smaller river jon last year. I'm not sure who made it , but it looked factory and was similar to the Lowe Paddle jon, which I believe were a copy of the old wooden boats the Dablemonts built.
  16. I use a Thule system on my Liberty and it works fine, Yakima works fine to. If you opt for the canoe carrying kit from Thule its a breeze. I think Yakima has one also.
  17. Try fishing the Rebar chute and the holes below it.
  18. Do you suppose they will change their 10' contour line format?
  19. Wow! at what depth does the Trout friendly water begin, or does it?
  20. One would think that the Whites could find some Shad their size? I caught a White and saw another caught on the Elk, well up from the lake and apparently they were loners?
  21. I don't want to stick my neck out here, but I don't believe they are capable of swimming. They lack an air sac for one, and I've never seen one do anything but settle back to the bottom when propulsion ceases. Whites full of Crawdads does raise a good question, but I assume they do feed on them when they are available to them. Did mean to ask, how do know they weren't Shad?
  22. So how long would it take two old men, not in a hurry? Is there a better overnight at that time?
  23. Not sure exactly what you're asking. I know there are 35 varieties in MO, if I remember right, and many stay in their particular niche. I've seen them very thick in one area and I assumed it probably had something to do with breeding. Some leave the water to burrow, and some confine themselves to very shallow pools off the mainstem of streams.
  24. Steve, Jim and I were on the Elk this past weekend. It was fun, despite the lack of fish of any size, but they're all fun.
  25. Hoover is there any truth to the idea that the water will get to warm, to often, for Zebras to survive over a few years in Missouri?
