  1. The ones I've used were either Garlands or some unnamed bulk. Both seem to work equaly well. I don't know if ya'll are aware of the fact that Bobby Garlands passed away. A fellow named Ned Rutledge, I believe, is doing the lures now. He's in Lakeview also.
  2. Do you use the small size vinyl rib for all sizes?
  3. I fished the spot at the creek mouth very hard last summer on a trip over, but caught nothing. I still don't know why, its one of the best looking holes I've seen on any of our rivers. I would like to explore Bryant more, but paddling up doesn't take me as far as I would like. Some reasonable shuttles would be the ticket.
  4. I don't think any California Bass should replace Perry's. I believe they should have their own listing to account for the different water and weather conditions. Big Bass, no doubt.
  5. Long Creek Marina is close to your location and they have a big selection of Trackers, the fishing can be good in that area also. I don't know how they compare in price with Big Cedar. Bear Creek will be North of you and you might be able to probe the edges in it, in a small boat. It has some very good Crappie fishing in the Spring.
  6. Well leave it at home, we have enough weather problems, but if you find some nice weather, by all means bring it.
  7. Thanks catman. Would that be Cook? Do you know of anyone providing shuttles for Bryant?
  8. I don't know if it helps, but Silver Dollar City is considered on Indian Point.
  9. If you don't mind sharing, where is the Cable Hole?
  10. Or for the tournement fishermen to pull them off the beds. Sorry, couldn't resist.
  11. I agree, TR is a big lake and in the Spring fishing can vary considerably from one area to another.
  12. It is a progranm to enhance and restore the habitat, as was said. Of course I have to question it, I'm not normaly negative, but I'm having trouble understanding how you enhance and restore fish habitat on or in something that was dry land? If they were going to concentrate on the James, the portion or the White that is still below the dam, Flat, Roaring etc, I could understand that because there is certainly a need. I'm just not sure what is missing in TR.
  13. Other than what ya'll have mentioned, jigs have produced for me too. Plastic creatures on a jig head, silicone or hair jig and a Sammy produce most often for me.
  14. I can only tell you what others tell me, I rarely catch anything because they always come up after my bed time, but Clown is popular as is White. Jerkbaits seen to be the lure of choice.
  15. It may get narrower and more shallow once big waves start knocking the gravel out of the banks. The lake is simply too narrow for boats creating big waves. There will be damage.
  16. You could rig the kids with mini jigs under a float. It can be very effective and kids seem to do well with something visual. RRV's advice is sound on the equipment and the store can line you out on what is hot in jigs. Boots aren't needed, wading isn't legal in most of the stream. The stream is pretty safe for the two older ones to head out on their own.
  17. vonreed, were you on the water or land?
  18. Thanks Steve, the wife is doing 13 weeks at St John, so I'll be making several trips over. I'll probably concentrate on weekdays. Any advice would be appreciated.
  19. I don't know Phil, but I think the wrong people are at the helm in Branson. The biggest complaint one hears from people is that its too crowded and they don't go anymore, yet the answer from the city fathers seems to be that they need more growth, but 76 still crawls and on some weekends the other main thorough fares do also. The new businesses coming in seem to be nothing but competition for the old. I think what the city needs is a new leadership that works toward preserving whats been built, instead of building what they probably can't maintain. Thats my opinion any way.
  20. How does one access the river below Zinc Dam. I assume the dam is at the refinery? What precautions should one take in wading?
  21. The Code says the unimpounded portion, if the unimpounded portion is above the flood pool, then it would reach well up Bryant creek, or Beaver for that matter.
  22. And the safety of fishermen and possibly the bottom that produces the food because the lake isn't real deep. I'm not sure what they are trying to create, but it ain't pretty.
  23. You might check with Jimmy T on this site for a river guide.
  24. No boat, if you have a jet you might get closer.
