Had a good day in the James river arm yesterday fishing from rail hollow and north of there. Spots where moving up on shallow tapering gravel points leading into the bays. Water temps anywhere from high 48's to low 50's. All on slow rolling and grinding cranks. Chartreuse DT14's were the hot ticket. Wanted that tight wiggle over other baits such as fat free shad crankbaits which have a wider wobble. Hope this helps someone.
I've been out the last three days. The wind has kept me relegated to the east end of the lake. Have had no luck what so ever. A few missed fish, landed one spot. Feels like that cold front did a number on the fishing. The next few days should improve the fishing greatly with the increase in temps. Anyone been over to the James river area? And if so, how's that been?
