  1. Gabe, I have several Lews reels that I have purchased in the last years. I had been a Chronarch guy for years. I still have and use my Chronarchs on a regular basis. The Lews are great cast really well and for most applications preform really well. I have noticed that whit bait that have some drag to them. (i.e. ripping a 1/2 oz spinner bait) the chronarch preforms better and is less taxing to fish with all day. I was using the Lews Pro BB1 to compare to the chronarch. I have 2 CI4 and love them that's a great price they don't go on sell a lot. I might have to get me another one.
  2. Great report, Chomper. You are right getting to spend that time with your kids is what it's all about. I have been fishing with my father since I was 4 or 5 and wouldn't trade that lifetime of memories for anything. Thanks again for the good detailed report.
  3. Great report D. It is interesting how many ways people can catch them in the same areas at the same time of year. Fish to your strengths! Hey guys my buddy and I are going to fish the Angler's Choice series next year on Lake O. Neither of us have fished Lake O much. I have fished it 2 times and my buddy one time. If any one fishes up there and would like to give us some pointers it would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Thanks for the report. The wart bite should be getting good for the next few weeks. I hope it doesn't stay so cold its to tough to fish. I am a little thin blooded. LOL I don't like it much when the high is only 30. I'll stay home and make skirts. NO Dprice, not the kind you wear. hehe.
  5. You sure are right about it being tough to put down. You can catch them several ways right now. I was catching several on the DT-4 when I started and made the decision just to go with the sb and cover water. I used your info about the deeper banks in the coves. You can pull in a cove look around and tell where they are going to be. It's a good time to fish right now. If the blade bite turns off with the cooler weather you should still get them on the wart at jerkbait until the end of the year.
  6. I put in a little before 8:00 Saturday morning at Cedar Ridge. I fished from there down the lake to a little past state park. I had 31 total with 15 keepers. Most of them on a spinner bait. I found them on the steeper banks with the wind blowing in on them. The fish were hold right on the bank so I would parallel the bank with my boat only 10 to 15 feet from the bank. I had the trolling motor down and a covered a lot of water. I didn't get anything big, I had 4 in 3 lbs range the rest just 15-16 in keepers. The bite seemed to be better before noon than after for me. I was back at the ramp around by 3:00. Water temps were from 51-53 in most areas. I did a little testing with blade colors same spinner bait just changing the blade colors but it didn't seem to make a difference in the blade colors. The stock 3/8 war eagle in mouse color seemed to work as good as any. I threw a 1/2 oz in the same blade combo but I took of the skirt and put on a 5-6" swim bait trying to catch some bigger fish but I don't think I got a bite on that one. I am not sure what the cold weather will do to the fish but I am thinking it might slow down the blade bite soon.

    12/1

Thanks for the reports guys. I am headed up this weekend. I will probably tie on the blades and chunk and wind all day. Let you know how I do.
  8. I did some looking and there are some commercial zones off limits on Table Rock. Those regulations were issued by the Little Rock COE district. I can not see anything from the KC district that manages Stockton that has any commercial zone off limits on Stockton. I know that the State Park marina is off limits in tournaments that I fish on Stockton. I tried to attached the PDF from the COE that talk about commercial zones on TR. SWLR1130-2-57.pdf
  9. I looked on the MDC website and didn't find any regulations on fishing docks. They sit on public water so I would say they can't keep you from fishing around them.
  10. Great report J. Awesome shot from the go pro. When I was up on Sunday I only saw 2 other boats all day. It's nice to have the lake pretty much to yourself. I have been throwing the War Eagle with the moss skirt that seems to working best for me. Good luck and keep posting.
  11. Great report Skeeter. I agree with you. Most of the fish coming right on the bank. I haven't got around to the ned rig yet. I have been throwing my version of it. 1/8 to 3/16 shaky head with a 4" senko. It's been working well. I 4/20 power pro with a 3-4 ft. 8lb floro leader. That's finesse fish to me.
  12. I put in at State Park at 9:00 Saturday morning. It was still pretty foggy with lite south wind. I got off to a slow start throwing a spinner bait and a square bill. I only managed 3 shorts. I decided to slow down with a jig and a shaky head rigged with a 4" senko. As soon as I slowed down I started catching them. Not as many bites on the jig but a bigger fish. I was getting many bites on the shaky head lots of shorts with a keeper mixed in every now and then. Once the fog cleared and the breeze picked up I started hitting windy banks with a spinner bait and crank bait the bite started getting better in the afternoon. I wouldn't get as many bites on the spinner bait but I was catching better fish. I was getting more bites on the square bill but more short fish. I pulled out right before dark with a total of 33 bass, I had 13 keepers, nothing big, largest was 3.2 lbs. Sunday, I launched at 11:00. Cloudy and the wind was blowing. I thought I was going to kill them on the blades. Well, I was thinking wrong. fished some of the same areas as Saturday with little luck. I fished mostly with a spinner bait and crank bait only catching a short here and there. The wind was to bad to fish well with plastics but I tried a jig for a while with not much action. One short, one barley keeper. I decided to run up the river to get a little wind break. When I got up the river first thing I noticed was that the water was much cooler. 46-47 compared to 54-55 on the lower lake. fished the up the river for a while still not much happening. I caught a few shorts and one more keeper. The only patter I had going Sunday was switching poles. 4 times I set one pole down and picked up another with a different bait and caught one the first cast. Only to go for 30 minutes with out another bite. I would think I was on to something but nope just a random fish. Was back at the boat ramp around 3:00. 11 fish only 2 keepers. Much slower than Saturday.
  13. Hey Dprice. I didn't make it down to the main lake. I fished just a couple miles down form state park up to just past the 245 bridge.
  14. I put in around 10:00 Sunday morning at State Park. Fished several areas with out much luck, caught some shorts on shaky head, spinner bait and wart. The bight starting getting better around 1:30 I starting catching them on the windy banks using a square bill. I caught a mix of whites and black. Most of the fish I was catching were right on the bank in 2-3 feet of water. Even the blacks. I ended up with 25-30 total about 10 of those being big whites. I caught 7 keeper blacks nothing very big 16.5 was the biggest black. It was a nice afternoon very few boats on the lake. I probably didn't see 6 other boats all day. It's nice to have things all to yourself that doesn't happen very often on the weekends. The water temp was running 57-59. Everybody have a great holidays and don't bother going fishing.

  16. you got any info to share about the big ones dprice?
  17. I don't have any info on the tournament Saturday out of Mutton but the Polar Bear Series started Sunday on Stockton out of State Park Marina. They only had 16 boats fishing and the weights were: 1st place - 14.50 lbs big bass = 6.73 2nd place on big bass; 2nd place - 12.93 lbs big bass 7.07 1st on big bass; 3rd place 10.63 lbs. I went out for a while Sunday afternoon with a buddy. The bite was tough for us. We fished mostly windy banks with crank baits. We caught 15 to 16 fish mostly shorts we had only 2 keepers and 3 or 4 good size whites. We didn't find any in groups mostly just scattered fish catching one every now and then covering a lot of water. Water temps ranged form 62-63 on the main lake and was as cool as 58 up the river.
  18. Thanks, for the report Bill. Sounds like a great day on the water. I cannot agree with you more about the political commercials.
  19. Hey Skeeter, I have not fished the Ned Rig. I have hearing good things about it and was wanting to know what type set up you use for fishing it? Line type & size. What weight head do you use most? Length and weight of rod. I would appreciate any advice.
  20. Thanks Skeeter for the report. I have been fishing more up the river parts of the lake. Right now have been catching numbers on crankbaits. You will catch a few keepers that way lots of small fish. My bigger fish have come in the same areas just slowing down with a jig or some kind of plastic bait.
  21. I always change hooks on warts, especially on the old 80's one I pick up. #5 Owner stinger is the way to go. If they look at it they get hooked.
  22. Walcarbass, I have not had much of a crankbait bite all fall until now. I love throwing cb in the fall. I have not been able to catch anything but little fish on the cb until now. I was throwing 2 baits. DT-6 Helsinki Shad and Bandit 200 chartruse black back. Get on a steep bank stay in 15 ft of water cast to the bank and crank. You should get bit. Dont let the wind bother you. Float down with the wind and run back up float by again if you hook up. Good Luck'
  23. On 11/19 it was 53 - 54
  24. Got on the water at 10:00. Fished the midlake for first 3 hrs. 6 fish 1 keeper pretty slow. About 1:30 made run up to more the river parts of the lake the bite turned on arond 2. Fishiing the channel swing banks. I ended the day with 36, biggest 4lbs, i had 10-12 big whites included in the 36. All whites over 15 in. The largest white was 1/8 in short of 18 in. I threw a crankbait all day. I have been catching them really shallow flipping a jig. Spring time pattern but with the water cooling and dropping a little those fish have moved. The fish today were on more of a fall pattern fairly shallow but close to deep water. That all for now. Keep your hooks sharp and your line tight. Good fishing guys and BE SAFE!
  25. Bite, is right! I have been on a spring pattern since the end of Sept. catching 3 to 5 pounders in my spring areas. Flippin willows in 2ft of water. This fall has been completely different than usual. I guess the water levels has been the cause. Flipping shalow wood has been the trick for me. The main difference from the spring has been ignore the buck brush. They are not in it. Look for bigger wood. It you find live willow trees in the water flip them. I am sure with the dropping water temps they will move out soon. Get back to more normal patterns
