  1. I've been to Busch a few times this year. It has been hit & miss for me (but, i'm still new to fishing). Last week I had some luck catching bass on lake 24 (all were < 15"), and a 14" trout (I forget which lake) using European nightcrawlers. I went yesterday (4/28/13) and landed an 8" bluegill, a 21" bass, and as usual a slew of the 3-5" sunfish.
  2. I was at Busch yesterday (easter), they are renting boats for 33 again... All the snow melt and rain filled the lake enough for boats.. Yay!

    Hi!

Hello, I'm new to the site and the sport (first year fishing) I mainly go after bluegills & other "little guys", but have caught a couple small LMB (by dumb luck). My main places are Carondelet Park and Busch Conservation. Are there any places that get less pressure, that are near the STL area? I'd be willing to drive a couple hours to get there, but I don't have a boat (yet) so it's all from the bank for me. Oh, and I breed/farm my own worms, european nightcrawlers (eisena hortensis) so that is my main bait.... If you want any knowledge on raising your own bait, drop me a line!
