Report: we didn’t have any luck for Crappie in the lake so we motored to orleans bridge to fish for whites. I landed 4 huge males (largest I’ve ever caught) with a blue and silver rebel minnow. Several boats had limited on males earlier in the day.

I know it's an old thread but I just picked up the Pflueger president. Spooled it with 4lb nanofil (thought I''ll post my review after a few trips). My initial review is that on my first cast I accidently cast it into the middle of my neighbors yard with only a flick of the wrist. Hopefully the knot won't snap, I read a ton about tying a good knot and I think it was correctly tied, we'll see. Thanks everyone for the help.

I realize this may be the wrong forum for this, but I follow this one for my trout needs. I picked up a G loomis gl2 6 foot spinning rod today at bps on clearance for 135. This is a big purchase for me as my second most expensive rod cost 25 and is 15 years old... It is going to be a Father's Day present (allegedly). My question is this. What reel would you recommend? I'm not looking to start a verbal fight between members but would love to hear some thoughts on $50-100 options. Thanks

I will be bringing the kids to Table Rock State park in 2 weeks (5/28/15) to tent camp. I have a small boat and we like to fish for crappie, bluegill, and especially blue cats. Can anyone give me suggestions on good catfish fishing near the state park campground? Thanks in advance

I took grandpa and both kids. My apologies to those looking for a quiet evening at Lilley's, we don't really do quiet! Anyway, we fished for about 2 hours and came home with 5 keepers. One was a 2 1/2 pound rainbow, caught on a brown jig. It was a great trip, I was a bit worried I wouldn't be able to fish with my grandpa again, but the ease of the dock made it happen. Thanks to Lilleys Landing. Great memories!

I'm trying to decide between trout fishing near Lilley's Landing or braving the crowd at Stockton for crappie. I'm leaning toward Trout fishing. Anyone know how they are biting today?

I took my son and dad tonight. Things got real fun about an hour before dark on an east bank, in the evening sun. Bobbers and minnows on the bank. 3 keepers and 2 break offs at the boat in about 45 minutes. 13-14 inch slab females. I suspect it's gonna get real crazy this weekend. Have fun!
