Bites ruark is where i usually do my cats on the rocks and it usually runs a week or two later but generally start this weekend and go through june. i would think aldrich would be along the same time frame as cc. After the spawn we fish the flats at aldrich and drift shiners and catch them all the way through sept if it stays warm. Going to ruark this afternoon and heading up the river looking for crappie and walleye. might throw out a couple jugs at the bridge for the heck of it. good luck kevin

Thursday night i couldn't buy a keeper that shallow. they were all 6 to 8 inches. can't wait to try it again next weekend.

Good to hear ohai!! With this warmer weather this week the cats should start up. 2 weeks or so it will really get good.

Side note in about a week the cats should be starting up. my favorite fishing time!!!

Went to aldrich and brought home 3 crappie 1 white and 1 lm. probably caught 20 or so crappie just most were short. Keepers were out a little deeper. used minnows and jigs. didn't matter what jig they bit everything. Fished from 630-9 and best bite was 7-8. tonight will be good farmer and ohai. good luck!! Kevin

Not sure farmer but I'm gonna find out tonight. just can decide if I'm going to ruark or aldrich. I'm affraid the water cooled to much for the cats to be up around the rocks but who knows.

Anyone know what the water temp is there? last heard surface was 75 but figured the cold spell dropped it some. The water was getting right to fish the rocks for cats but didn't want to drive all the way around if its to cold still. thanks for any help. good luck and good fishing!! Kevin

In other posts I've read that people are backing off in the 10-15fow range and the bigger ones were out there.

Will this rain and cooler temps bring out one more round of mushrooms or has it been to hot and dry and too late for anymore??

You better believe it. i have into a few and for a few short moments you forget about the world around you.

Fellows is unique lets say. bar none if you are fishing from the bank Stockton is worth the extra drive. the cats will be starting up there soonn and you can catch quite a few from the bank. check out the Stockton forum posts and you'll find some really informative and nice people. as for where to go, i go to one place when fishing off the bank for cats and crappie almost every time. The directions are kinda hard to write out but pm me an email adress or phone number and i can help you out on where to go. hope this helps. ps were the blue gill caught on worms?? and were they hand size or just small ones?

I hooked into one last week from the bank while crappie and bass fishing. one it came up i knew it wouldn't last too long with my 8lb line. it was a nice one though. my guess was around 40 or so. the fight lasted less than five minutes the the obvious , it cut my line but it was an adrenaline rush for sure!! good luck and good fishing!!

I know some really good fisherman and most havent done so good the last few days. they should be spawning any day now if not already. if the water stays this dang clear the spawn will be deep. My thought is the warmest dirty spawning grounds will be key but I'm starting to be at a loss as well

It depends on the time of year. i usually start in 10-15fow and work my way out from there the warmer it gets.

Stockton is the place for walleye. now til the end of may trolling flicker shads will be the key. will catch a lot of crappie on them too

Hooked into what i know for sure was a keeper muskie yesterday while fishing the bank for crappie and bass. he come out of the water fully twice before cutting my line. I've caught a couple before that were 36 & 38 and he was bigger than that. caught it on a orange and green 1/8 oz head with a purple silver flake creature jig in the cove by the ramp

Lol that would be awesome if they did. all were caught on a green swimming minnow with pink head right at dark. morels were in a shaded bottom in the grass. took 2.5 hours to find it and 10 mins to pick them lol
