  1. Don't tell me that lol I'm at work this evening, I think I'm gonna sleep a fee hours then try to get back out there at 6a.m.
  2. I've decided I have horrible timing. Went this morning and nothing. You could see them everywhere. Tons of people tho and I'd say one our of every 10 people had caught one fish. I'm gonna try after work tonight. I've heard it's better after dark... Any advice other than avoiding snakes?
  3. Where is this fishing hotspots map? A link might be useful if you don't mind.
  4. Had to go fishing this mornin. Couldn't take t any longer. So I got to my crappie dock hoping to catch lunch (crappie or bass). So I rigged up minnows and put em to my depth on one pole and bass lures on the other. Cast the bass pole a few times and nothing. After about 5 minutes I hear my crappie pole. Reeled in a stupid sunfish. Then, every time my hook hit the water, another stupid sunfish. All morning this happened. Everything I put in the water got bit by one. Flicker shad, small hooks, big hooks...... I hate sun fish. No crappie, no bass. Fished from 730 to 1030. Stupid sun fish!
  5. So with all of that being said, if I went to McCord or Taylor around 6 am, would I be able to catch any whites or walleyes? No boat BTW. Or would I fair better at my crappie dock in shell knob?
  6. I heard it'll peak about 3am tonight and won't go down until like Monday or Tuesday.
  7. Didn't get to go, wife had to go do something w her family so I was on babysitter duty. Sorry to get everyone's hopes up. I was antsy and ready to try to tear em up. I'm sure the river is too high and quick now.
  8. Going down to blunks and Taylor shoals around 630 in the morn. Hoping I can come home n brag to the wife. Lots of fish equals less grief from her the next time I go lol will report my findings and pics (if there are any worth taking)
  9. It is a bradford pear. We took one in to the Mizzou extension office and they identified it. The previous owner told us it was a dogwood. Oh well.
  10. Went down to blunks this morn. Been pumped cuz the dog wood in my front yard is blooming and ya know what that means! Got there at 7, no boat so I had a long muddy slippery walk down the river. Made it to the spot after only falling twice. Tied on a small three pronged umbrella rig with white swimming minnows. No whites, but was entertained until about 10 by what I think is the Ozark bass or small mouth not sure. Caught tons of them. At about 10 went further down to McCord and same story. Lost my umbrella rig finally and a poorly tied flicker shad. Left soon after that. I only saw 2 whites caught and about 20 boats.
  11. Thanks for all of the info.!! MoPanfisher, thanks for taking the time to explain all of that! I'm hoping to go Friday or Saturday night!
  12. Recently , being about 3 years ago, I sat out to be able to catch all types of fish in my range of lakes and rivers. I set out each day w 2 types of fish in mind and am usually successful. However, I can not set out for walleye and obtain the elusive creature. I don't have a boat so I always have to research a bit where to go be it on shore or a dock. Basically I'm writing this post to find someone who might consider their self a good teacher, or mentor if you will. I'd bring my own equipment so I'd be a tag along or company. Hope this hits close to home w someone and I thank you for your replies in advance.
  13. Glad I could brighten someone's day. Kids did love it. Keep asking when we are going again. Bill have "borrowed" a lot of info over the past year from several of your posts. Keep up the good reports and advice!
  14. I'm a few days late posting but oh well.... Got to the dock around 330 with the wife and kids after 2 limits of trout at roaring river. Instantly, as our poles hit the water it was on. You could see down about 5 to 10 feet and crappie of all sizes. Me n the Mrs couldn't keep up w our two poles so we took the practice lures off of our 4 yr old daughter and 2 yr old sons pole and fitted them with a slip bobber and a minnow. We told em if the Bobber sinks to reel til it get tight and pull like your trying to take a toy away from each other. They both caught one a piece before deciding the minnows were way easier to catch. Caught tons of smaller crappie and 5 worth taking home but had fun regardless. Around 5 they just shut off. You could still see them thick below the dock but wouldnt give my jig or her minnows the time of day.
  15. Thanks for the info. I'm not too worried as far as Crappie goes. I know a place that has literally never failed me, and I've been out w friends a few times. But I've got a rookie boater taking me out and we were gonna see what damage we could cause haha. To the fish I mean of course.
  16. Finally get to go out on a boat tomorrow morn. Would love to come home w some WALLEYE, WHITE BASS, AND CRAPPIE. Where should I go? What should I bring lure wise for walleye and whites? Will most likely fish from 6 til noon.
  17. Heading down this morning to try my luck for whites. At a slight disadvantage, wife decided last minute we were staying the night at her parents since her sister was down for the weekend. Unfotunately I'm in flip flops sweats and father in laws tackle. When ya get the itch though ya make due lol.
  18. how do I change my disply/username

  19. As Bill drops the Mic and walks away. Lol Nicely done.
  20. Haha I'll keep that in mind
  21. So, I've been wanting to get into walleye, I have a few problems tho. A-no boat, ....that's really about it lol. I've never fished for anything other than crappie whites and bass. Anyone know any locations, baits or what not? And dumb down the terminology because I've not been at this but for maybe a year and a half.
  22. I've been crappie fishing under my aunt's dock in the knob, and last night til about 830pm and this mornin from 9 til 12 I caught a total of 4 walleye. I've been wanting to try walleye fishing but don't have a boat for trolling. I never thought I'd catch them about 6 ft below the surface where the water is 20 ft or more. They were too small but one was close. I caught them on a purple Bobby garland glow in the dark tadpole looking thing. The crappie were pretty good several keepers of which I kept the 4 biggest so we could have lunch. Is it normal to catch walleye like this?
  23. Didn't go. I've struck out too many times there so just decided to stay home w the family.
  24. I've went twice down there and came back empty handed...that's y she doesn't like me goin there lol
  25. Thinkin about goin down to blunks in galena around 4. Would I be able to catch many whites from the bank around that time? Will probably only be able to stay a few hours cuz the wife will probably be on my case otherwise lol
