Well, here goes. I'm new to all this stuff, but boy do I love fishin'. I don't know how this will be received in this community of what appears to be mostly experienced bass fisherman, but hey, you gotta start somewhere, and from what I've been able to read on this sight, you guys have some awesome information to share.
My son (19) and myself (50) just bought some fishing kayaks. I don't have a lot of disposable income to be investing a lot in what I hope will be a lifelong hobby. Please don't hate us because we don't have a boat (yet).
My goal is to #1. Stay safe. #2. Stay out of the way. #3. Catch fish.
I've lived in this area all my life, (around Clever) but up until this time all I've ever done is work all the time.
I'm within a year of retiring, and I need something to do to relax. I've always liked fishing, but never really had to time to do it right.
My God, and my family, are my top priorities in life, but the wife has given her blessing to this new endeavor, and I've promised to not break the bank, and to take her with me occasionally. (she's clearly awesome).
That's about it. Thanks for a great site, and an opportunity to learn.
