  1. So YOU'RE the one that got there before me and got the last camo one. I had called omtc a couple of weeks before I finnally made it down there, and was planning on getting the camo color but I showed up too late... That's alright though, I'll just plaster stickers all over it to tone it down a bit. I do like mine pretty well, can't get it in the water right now of course. I am very interested in getting one of those carts that Wayne was talking about too. Yeah, my canoe is doomed to stay on the rack now I think, unless We have a family float trip and then somebody will use it. Sure like a kayak for solo trips!
  2. Is this the cart you have? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sit-On-Top-Kayak-Canoe-Pup-Boat-Scupper-Cart-Dolly-Carrier-Trolley-10-Wheels-/380693168874
  3. I've been hauling it in my Volkswagen, but I have to pull the passenger seat out for it to fit inside. I will look into something like that to get it up top so I'll have room for people in the bus. For short jaunts to the river here for the day I will just use the pickup. Thanks!
  4. It is definitely heavier than the sit in, but so far manageable. That may change when I go somewhere I have to carry it more than 20 or 30 feet though! Probably will get a seat pad for the bottom, the backrest works pretty good for me.
  5. I wish I would have read your book before seeing the movie. The book's always better....
  6. OK, I'll be the first to admit it... I've been fishing off and on most of my life, but never got interested in fly fishing for some reason. Just looked totally different(and I of course didn't understand a thing about it) so I went about my merry way with spincast and spinning gear. Then I saw The Movie. And I thought, "I've really gotta try that". Yeah, Brad Pitt started it for me.
  7. Yep, it's the 2008(I believe that's the right year) WS Tarpon 120. Perception started using the mold when WS changed the design a bit, the parent company of both is Confluence Watersports so it's the same exact hull but doesn't have the "Phase 3" seat. Still pretty comfy though, Perception calls it Comfort Seating System. It's gonna have to sit on the sawhorses till next weekend I guess, Spring River's out of the banks.
  8. I've heard good things about those Ascends too. I just got a Perception SOT, now if the water will go down a bit.
  9. Yeah, it's most definitely easier to get into and out of. In the winter though you'd for sure want to have waders on, it's a wetter ride than a sit in. They make a camo colored version that I wanted, but I waited too long to go get it and they were out of everything but nuclear yellow...
  10. Picked this Pescador 12 up last week. I have an older Pungo, but wanted to get a SOT for storage and easier entry/exit during the warm water months. I read lots and lots of reviews and decided on this one and am very pleased so far, only had it out twice for short upriver and back down a mile or so quick fishing jaunts. Looks like it may be a bit before I can get out again with all the rain, river's coming up again....
  11. If they weren't so darn tasty it would help!
  12. Agreed... Those are fantastic!
  13. I'm wanting to come over there and check out the James pretty soon myself. What kayak did you get?
  14. I completely agree. The guy made an ASSumption and acted like a jerk, and he got called on it.
  15. Thanks!
  16. Go to "settings", under the "general" tab select "keyboard", turn auto correction off. I like my IPad a lot...hardly ever use my laptop anymore.
  17. Just stumbled across this site, I hadn't seen any "active" sites/forums since the old Conservation Cafe went under. I used to post in it a bit, but thats been awhile, nice to see this one! My fishing time took a major hit the last few years, but I think I finally have some time again to get back to the important stuff! Just wanted to introduce myself. Thanks, Scott Avilla, Mo.
