What is the deal with this lake???????? Other than higher water and them pulling water !!!! Fished Friday afternoon to Sunday night, and couldn't really figure out a pattern at all. Fish one area and could get bit on a jig and crawl but all those 14 1/2 to 14 7/8 fish, move to another areas and that bite would be a worm and nothing on jig move to another area and nothing on jig or worm but spinner bait bite all fish were same size. Don't understand for last several years this lake I have always catch those just under 15 inch so you would think after a couple of years it would be full of 15 and over not under 15. Fished from Son's Creek to Birch Branch to Hawker's What is the thoughts about this.

I can confess I am very Guilty of not wearing mine all the time. I use to unhook it off my life jacket and then found myself not hooking it back up. I have changed to the way I use kill switch cord. I broke plastic hook and had to tie it to my life jacket so now I can't undo it so every time I stand up to fish it pulls switch and it make me reattach it every time

Anytime on the water with a kid is a great time. My daughter still talks about trips from 10 years ago, when we go she will bring up fishing spot and trips that I myself have forgotten have forgotten about. Kids will never forget those days and as we get older they will refresh are minds to those memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes us proud that we take the time to spend we them and teach them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice way to end the day tho !!!! That makes the ride home a lot better. I hate it when I get on the water and catch a few fish and then struggle catching anymore if any and then the drive home all I do is try and figure out what I did wrong!!!!!! GRRRRR At which is happens often

Bigfishscott thank you for your information. I am 3 years into owning this boat and finally seeing end of tunnel on all the the problems. First 6 months into this boat spent a lot of time working on wiring and getting motor set up and getting it propped right.. I have asked a lot of questions on the forms weather it was on boat probkem or fishing and have received a lot of good information. Thanks to the good people here!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well guys thank for all the inputs. I greatly appreciate it. Got this from another guy see what you guys think about this, I have looked in to this and I don't think it a bad thing at all. Let know what you think. My 10 year old boat came with Lowrance graphs and, 2 years ago, I switched to Humminbird SI/DI units. I mounted my transducer for the console unit on my jackplate with a transducer shield and saver. I then used an adapter to use the already installed in hull transducer puck. I'm not sure how it works, but your HB will read from the jackplate at slow speeds so you can use the DI and/or SI, but when you increase speed it will automatically switch to the in-hull transducer so you have depth reading at speed. :Like others have said, I would put the SI on the back so you can idle around areas and mark spots. Here is a link to an article about the adapter. http://www.sonarwars.com/convert-lowrance-to-humminbird-2d-sonar/

Walleyedmike Thanks for the info I will look at into it. I am sure on the mounting cause boat was on the trailer when i mounted it to the boat and it was on the rear step above bottom of boat.

To be truthful with you I haven't use it much at all. I get on the water and want to fish and not play with the depth finder so I really haven't. I know that sound stupide spend that kind of money and not use it for what you could use it for. I have been going up to the lake some since end of December and I have played with the down imagine a lot and think I have got it lined out where I can see things better. I have a problem read it on the side I guess is my biggest problem I find myself turning my head all the time reading it.

Dprice you might be right with location I will try and post pictures. 1st picture is where it is located now 2nd picture is where I had it off to the right side and it broke the bracket on first run. Hope you guys understand what I am showing

I bought two Humminbird Helix 7 depth finders last year one is a DI and the other is a SI. The DI I have at rear console and SI on trolling motor. The problem I am having is that I lose depth on DI at console at 8 MPH, I mounted transducer 18 inches of to the drivers side rear of transom. First run out with it last year I went over another boats wake and transducer broke off the plastic mount. So I don't know if it would pick up depth or not. Got another plastic ( UGH ) bracket and mounted transducer at rear center of transom behind motor like I stated 8 mph and I lose depth. I have contacted Humminbird about a transducer that goes in hull' they tell me that they have one but have to drill hole threw bottom of boat and I am NOT going to do that!!!!! Had Lowerance units before and it had a puck that was glued inside of hull and never had a problem with losing depth readings. Does anyone out there have any thoughts or ideas what to do. I like the depth finders but get frustrated with it. Also what your ideas on which depth finder should be where, Should side imaging be on trolling motor or at console. Thanks in advance Terry
