  1. Was able to make a trip to the river and since I got a new camera I thought I'd share a little of the trip. It was a cloudy overcast day but finally cool enough that I could paddle up and not melt. The river is down and the water is really clear right now. The bite was tough but it was a quite peaceful day. It was nice to get away from it all and any day fishing is better than a day working. Fall is really starting to make an appearance so I'm not sure how many more times Ill get to go. I took a few pictures and released them all for another day.
  2. Yaknar looks like a good trip except the crash at the end. I still get out but dont post anymore. I caught 3 walleye in the same section of river on my last trip. First ones I've caught up in there. I need to get out a few more times before the year is up. As always thanks for taking us along on your trips.✌🎣
  3. Sorry about the season ending injury but you finished it in style Nice small jaw. Keep us updated on your healing
  4. Only been out once as of late but did catch a few nice small jaw bronze beauties!
  5. Galena to Kerr is around 3 miles and could be done pretty quickly if you dont fish it super hard around 3 to 5 hours so you may want to add blinks. Mudbank to Kerr is a pretty good haul and can eat 10 + hours. Delaware to Shelvin and Shelvin to Hooten are around 7 miles and would eat that 5 to 8 hours nicely. Water is moving kinda slow right now but we will see as week progresses with rain fall. Had luck as of late with watermelon jigs, dark crankbaits and a few morning largemouth hits on topwater. Hope this helps. Tight lines and best of luck to ya.
  6. Yaknar I've used Gflex to repair my yak 3 times and it works great. Highly recommended
  7. # 2 The permits are good from April 15 to April 15th I believe. In off season hours I would contact City Utilities @ 417 831 8881
  8. Yes the streak continues!

Looks like a great day! Nice work and thanks for sharing!
  10. Wanted to share a few pics from some recent adventures. The bite for me as of late has been tough, I've had to really work to catch the fish that I have caught. The river has changed for me after the rains and floods and the fish have moved from I normally find them. Here are a few pics of some of the ones I have been blessed to catch. All fish where released to catch another day.
  11. I believe that is correct at 6.5 miles. The river is moving decent right now at a discharge at 980 cfps and a gauge height of 4.08. There is some great fishing in this section of the river, we have been doing well in the middle of the river on smallies on anything that looks like a craw. The float itself could be covered in 3 hours with no fishing at current discharge but like Mr Slab Slinger has mentioned above allow 8 hours and fish it all. Fish the banks and structure of course in the deeper holes and the middle going with the current in the riffles and have a great time and post some pics of your outing. Tight Lines and Big Smiles
  12. All work and no play makes dugie unhappy? good luck out there and post some pics of your adventures.
  13. Was able to get out early am and float from Delaware to Shelvin Rock Access. The float normally will take 6-7 hours for me as I like to fish , wade and float. This morning it took about 4 hours and could have been done in 3, the river is flowing nicely and clear of debris. Caught my first Small just below the 14 bridge and my buddy caught a large there as well. The bite was really good all day but strangely picked up as the heating of the day set in. For those familiar with this section of the river, there is a deep hole we refer to as Gar hole near the end of the trip where you can see the huge house way up on the hill, then there is a long stretch after gar hole that leads to the bridge above Shelvin hole. that little section was so HOT today it was incredible and a ton of fun. Each cast produced a small mouth between 12 and 15" and one closer to the 17-18 range. I've never caught many fish in this section but today it was smallie heaven ) All fish where set free for us all to hopefully catch another day. Caught so many I couldn't take pictures of them all but here are a few. Water has better clarity and a little more green than even Thursday. For those who track stats as I do the flow was at 944 cfps with a gauge height of 4.02 The river is safe and they are hungry go get'em. Be safe ,tight lines, big smiles!
  14. Vonreed great to know, thanks that helps a lot. did you guys do any fishing and if so how was the bite?
  15. No problem Yaknar I've been called a lot worse. Sounds great Junkie! Hope to see you there, we are getting an early start both have camo fs 10 ascends and going to try to take chainsaw or bow saws and do any trimming we need to make the river safe. I was actually thinking about you two when I was typing and sharing!
  16. Was able to drive down and check the river in a few spots. Took a few photos and thought I would share with all my fellow anglers that might be itching to get out there and do a little floating / fishing. Current Levels at Boaz are discharge of 1340 cu ft per sec. and a gauge height of 4.58. On with the pics...... a pic is worth a thousand words and I dislike typing ) Highway 14 Bridge looking down river Highway 14 looking up river Delaware town Ramp, you can see the river is getting some clarity, it is still moving fast but manageable. Delaware Ramp looking down river. Delaware ramp up river. You can tell by the curb underwater the clarity is returning, I would say the river is still more brown than the normal green. Nelsons Bridge looking up river. Nelsons Bridge Looking down river I plan on traveling from Delaware to Shelvin Rock on Saturday and will give a fishing report after. There was a slight amount of debris on the surface but it appeared minimal. I hope this helps fellow forum members who might be preparing to float, Be safe, Tight Lines, Big Smiles!

  18. Looks like a great day Yaknar! Thanks for the report and as always the wonderful pics and sharing your day with us. Congratulations on the double Great Job!
  19. Thought I would post a few pics of the river I took after work today. If you have pictures post them here if you can. I have included shots I took from google maps to help show the magnitude of the devastation. The first place I could access the river was at Nelsons Bridge, it is located between Battlefield Mo and Delaware town access. For what its worth the discharge rate at pic time was 40,700 cubic feet per second and a gauge height of 21.6 feet First without flooding Today The second place I could get a peek was Rivercut Golf Course I am both amazed and devastated by this event. Prayers to all effected
  20. These stories are awesome. I just recently started fishing and had never heard of a double until last year when Yaknar did it.
  21. Was able to get out for a little paddle this morning so decided to go upstream at Delaware town. Water was moving pretty good but was clear and had a nice green color to it. Caught my first smallie just into the trip! On to the 2 on 1 action..... just below where the Wilson meets the James I experienced my first ever double! Caught a lot of small, large and google eye on the litttle square bill seen in the 2 on 1. All fish where released to enjoy another day! All in all a great little morning on the James, water was a nice green color with a discharge of 449 and a gauge height of 3.18.

Thanks Guys the majority of the fish where on the upriver side of the bridge in that timber and rocks/current. The crappie was in that little cove on the east side. The bite was slow until around 4:00 then it lit up and it was a fish almost every cast. i also forgot to add the water temp right now is around 64 degrees according to my little pool thermometer I carry.

Finally getting healed up enough to get out for an afternoon so I headed down to Delaware town and floated down under the bridge and paddled back to the truck. The bite was decent and the weather was good so all in all it was a great day to be on the river. Seen some turkeys, a ton of turtles, and a few ringed water snakes. I have included a pic of my Yak so if any of you see me on the river please stop and say Hello. Caught a few and took some of their pictures....Happy Fishing and enjoy!
