  1. I hear ya Stump...the level of stupidity of some people on the lake amaze me. We have had 3 boats in the last 2 tournaments drive between us and the bank. And we are only 30 or 40 yards off the bank when this has happened!! One boat would have came close to running over my line but I reeled in real fast and just raised both arms up in the air to signal the 'are you are stupid as I think you are' universal sign.
  2. I don't know who gave you the info about the Everett tourney fish handling but it's waaaay off! I will try to get the TD Mike Webb to come on here and confirm their process after the fish are weighed. I don't know how many 'tons' of dead bass are, but I was there a few Friday's ago when the issue with dead bass was brought up. Tournament fishing overall take better care today than they did 5, 10, 15 years ago. Technology and education has played a major role in this...and like Ryan said, there will always be a few die no matter what time of the year.
  3. Whether your out here on Beaver...or fishing the Bassmaster Elite on the Potomac River this past week or the FLW championship at Wheeler lake a couple weeks ago in Alabama, proper fish care will keep bass alive. Water temps across most of the country are in the low 90's and they were using the same techniques as we do here. #1..ice the water down. #2...Add G-Juice with the Oxygenator running. Don't have a Oxygenator? Use a local product, Rejuvenade. And guess what? More bass were on a couple Hispanic guys stringer at Hickory creek last night than what has died in tournaments at Beaver all month...and don't get me started on those bass eating stripers!!??
  4. Had a good tournament last night..hours were from 7pm-3am out of Hickory creek. We again caught bass from 1-20 feet of water 'junk fishing' with around 12 keepers. Most came on a spinnerbait and crankbait. We took 1st with a little over 14 pounds and had big bass with a 4 1/4.
  5. This happened last night in the Wednesday night derby..don't know who it was but they put it up on dry land, huh??
  6. We will run the Tuesday night jackpots until people quit showing up. Probably into September..not sure when the championship will be yet. Do know that it will be 7pm-2am on a weekend..and night fishing in late September and October can be phenomenal!!!
  7. August 2nd results. 13 Boats 1st Travis Fox Kendra Watts 12.59 lbs 2nd Steven Meador Megan Meador 11.89 3rd Teddy Holt Mike Jones 6.85 Big bass 3.84 steven Meador Super tough night for most everyone except Travis and Steven. Only 3 boats out of 13 weighed in any fish.
  8. Yeah, you know you have a pretty fair amount of warts when you have to up your insurance coverage to make sure they are covered in case of the unthinkable happening. I do have several boxes of warts but the prize in my collection is the pee wee set I am putting together for my daughter. Pee wee's were only made for a couple years and I am 2 colors away from having the complete, cataloged set of them. According to a very knowledgable Storm guru in New York, it will be one of a dozen or so in the world. I'll put a pic up when I complete the collection.
  9. Great color for Beaver/Bull/Table Rock!!!
  10. Fished our club tourney out of prairie from 7pm-3am. We struggled all night and only weighed 10.22lbs. Had 9 or 10 keepers but when most of them have to be measured, you don't cull up much!! Water temp has dropped to 86 in the HSB area and there was no rhyme or reason to the fish we caught. All were in 5-20 feet of water...great pattern, huh??? Jeff Cook and Dale Marsh took 1st with 17lbs, Danny Warren and his partner was 2nd with 16lbs and Allen Westfall and James Whittle was 3rd with 13 1/2lbs.
  11. Still trying to achieve the 'a-hole of the site' award? Doing a darn good job!! It's funny how you are the topic of conversation at the boat ramp..like I said before, just another blow hard hiding behind a 'puter.
  12. Friday was a weird night..the later it got, the worse the bite seem to get. I thought when the moon came up it might change things but didn't seem to.
  13. Scotty Parsons was 2nd with 15.80 and Jeremy Claypool was 3rd with 14 and change. We fished the Friday night derby and struggled..had 12 1/2 pounds and finished 2nd.
  14. I heard he had over 18 pounds for the win...pretty strong bag for the dog days of summer on Beaver!!
  15. I like your idea...another angle would be have a 7-12am and then weigh in. Take off again at 1am-6am and weigh in. Basically have two tournaments in one and not put the stress on the fish.
  16. Jeff Cook is having a benefit tourney Saturday night for Rachelle Jones who has been in the mayo clinic in Arizona for a while. I applaud him for raising money for her family but the tourney hours are 7pm-7am. I know a lot of guys that are fishing it but we are not...too old for a 12 hour all nighter and it will be tough keeping fish alive for those long hours.
  17. Agree. I don't have a problem with anyone keeping bass, crappie, stripers, whatever. The AGFC put the limits in place for a reason. We all know that all different species get taken out of lakes every day to eat..heck, Larry Nixon, Tommy Martin, George Cochran and a couple more always had a fish fry every year during the FLW. And it's 100% Kentuckys that they fry up.
  18. It has really changed from week to week on the spinnerbait deal. One week it will be 45 degree banks, next week it will be the end of bluffs or boulders.
  19. Your right Bill..the real Jack wagons are the guys who stole Vinscott's stuff! I (along with others who have voiced their opinion) am amazed how someone will just sit behind a computer and throw shade at people he doesn't even know...and groups all tournament fisherman into his opinion of a bunch of KVD wanna be idiots. Hundreds of summer tournaments go on every week, it's not going to change. Heck, the FLW championship is in Alabama in a couple weeks. The issue of dead fish was addressed last Friday night at weigh-in. Those that have dead fish were asked to take them home and knock the sides off of them or find someone at the ramp to take them. We have not had any next morning floaters at our Tuesday night tourneys...if anyone questions me, ask Mike, Hickory Creek marina owner. I will continue fishing all year long no matter who cries about it. Maybe we just need to have a fish fry tournament....weigh'em in, fillet them and eat'em!!!
  20. I won't fish again in the daytime for a couple months...Jeff Cook is having a 7pm-7am benefit tourney this Saturday but I really don't want to fish 12 hours straight as tough as it is right now. Might go crappie fishing Saturday night instead..I have a couple docks that are loaded pretty good. And one spot I told stump about that has whites and stripers! Let me know if you go out one night J-doc and I will put you on them.
  21. Boat traffic has got to be at an all time high..I was really surprised to see that much surface activity in 89/90 degree water.
  22. Ha ha ha!!! Here we go again...a know-it-all calling all us tournament fisherman stupid and idiots. No wonder other tournament guys won't post or comment on this page..
  23. You are being way too nice..we have just been making the right decisions on the water lately. The amount of big fish we have caught from post spawn until now have been more than I have ever caught at Beaver. I might go back through my notes later and see how many over 4 pounds have came in the boat..it's a slow day here at the car lot anyway!!
  24. Took off from Hickory creek at 6:30 and went to the HSB area. Saw some sporadic schooling fishing and caught a couple on top water. Closer to sun down, several good ones were chasing bream up on the bank and scored a couple more that way. After dark, the big black spinnerbait put a couple more in the boat. Everything caught was main lake. Water temp 87-90. Our best 5 weighed 14 1/2 with a 5 1/2...good enough for 1st and big bass in the tournament.
  25. Hours are 6:30-11:00 and entry fee is $40 with 100% payback. Come on out and fish with a bunch of Kevin Van Dam wannabe's as some one would say..the conversations always seem to be about this forum at every tournament I am at now! Lol!!
