  1. I fished the Everett Big Bass tourney on Saturday and the bite was spot on with what FnF has reported. Caught several on top water throughout the day, also had some on a square bill and drop shot. Lost a 4 pounder at the boat on the square bill (OUCH!!) Most fish were on the main lake....did see some schoolers in the back half of Ventris. Did weigh-in once and won a little money. I stayed within a couple miles of prairie creek in both directions.
  2. Nice job!
  3. Awesome stuff Jon! Thanks for the insight!
  4. Agree F'n'F, I met the water patrol wave runner guy taking out at Hickory Creek when I got there around 5:00-5:15. Wish they would stick around and deal with some of the night time madness.
  5. I fished the Tuesday night jackpot out of Hickory last night....ran up around Prairie creek for a couple hours with no results. Fished my way back down to Hickory creek and caught a couple keepers and 5 or 6 shorts on the point across the cove from the marina dock. All were caught on a shaky head with a finesse worm. Didn't stick around for weigh-in so I don't know what won but the team that had 17 1/2 pounds last week...had 0 last night. I did see he usual suspects out last night..one ski boat was skiing AFTER dark. I'm talking pitch black dark. Another wave runner was running around about the same time w/o any lights on. They just looked like a dark shadow going up an down the lake. Now I don't wish any harm on anyone but I thought it would be poetic justice if the wave runner with no lights would have had a run-in with the ski boat. Am I wrong to think this?!?!
  6. I have caught some nice crappie at L Fayetteville in the spring.
  7. Champ188-That's what I was wondering...I went over a brush pile last weekend with my down scan and there was not much detail at all...just looked like a big rock. With the little screen on the 798, the side scan is pretty useless in my opinion.
  8. Some years back in an Everstart tourney, the night after the first day of competition, some thieves went to a resort in the glaize and untied a bunch of bass boats. They took them out to the middle of the lake and stripped them, putting all the tackle into one of the boats and took off, leaving the stripped boats tied together in the middle of the lake. Lake of the Ozarks has been known for this type of activity for a loooong time! Sad, but true.
  9. I recently had a transducer mounted inside hull because the first one I had mounted on the transom, got busted off on my first trip out on Beaver...dang trees. Does the detail diminish with the ducer mounted inside the hull? I am running a 798 side and down imaging. Thanks
  10. Wow...I guess I am pure redneck...my 8 yr old daughter and I fish the Everett trail and I keep a bucket in the boat in case she needs to pee. If she has to go #2...well, I find the nearest port a potty!!! I have a 798 side and down imaging on my boat with a thru the hull ducer. Do you guys think it cuts down on the detail that it shows verses the external ducer? By the way, nice Ranger J-Doc!!
  11. When I used to live up by Lake of the Ozarks, I was fishing a tournament in the fall and the bass were suspended under the ends of the long condo docks. I was fishing them all day and the wave runners were buzzing me on a consistent basis. One water patrol noticed it and started pulling them over and writing tickets to every one that buzzed me! I wanted to troll over and give him a high five but thought better of it...
  12. I have this link saved on my favorites!
  13. 90% of the time, I throw a 3/16oz shaky head. I know guys have success with the 1/8oz because of the slow fall but I am too impatient for that!!!
  14. I'm with you J-Doc on the off shore.
  15. Night fishing must really getting strong...it took 17.5lbs to win the jackpot out of Hickory creek last night! Big bass was around 6 pounds. Don't know any details of how/where the big bag was caught.
  16. Headed out in a couple hours to see if there is any schooling activity this evening. Monte Ne be the best place to start? Report to follow later tonight...
  17. I have caught 2 smallmouth on Lake of the Ozarks...both in night tournaments in the late 90's. The first one was caught in the Wednesday nighter...the second of the 2 was around 3 pounds and turned some heads at weigh-in at our club tourney! BOTH of these smallmouth were caught out of Moorings yacht club in the Glaize.
  18. One of the best sticks on Lake of the Ozarks is going to close out the biggest win of his career today...going into the last day of the all American with I believe a 14lb+ lead! He will be on tour next year! Great job Marcus!!!!
  19. This is a great rig for flipping shallow bushes when the bass are suspended up in the cover. I believe a Japanese angler did this in a Bassmasters tourneys a few years ago and did well.

    Crowded Out

My daughter and I fished the Everett tourney yesterday also. We had a good day on the water...7 or 8 keepers all on the Keitech swim baits and shaky head. I know there are rude tourney fishermen out there but everyone we came across was very respectful of the water we were fishing. We had a little zone that we were catching fish out of, some guys even watched us land some keepers but did not try to crowd us at all. Ended up cashing 2 checks and went to Mazzio's for pizza on the way home!
  21. Comes with power cord, mounting bracket and has the internal antenna. Works perfect, I upgraded is the only reason I am selling. $275 Send me a message and I will text pics. 417-531-1144
  22. Weights will fall tomorrow..less wind=less good fish. Don't think any of the top guys can sustain a 15 pound average for 4 days on Beaver without the A-Rig!!
  23. Had breakfast with Clark Wendlandt and Mike Surman this morning...like Koester said this is Beaver lake, not Table Rock. I don't think we will see weights for 4 days in the 60's. I'm guessing more around 51-52 for the 4 day event.
  24. Thanks guys...I was bass fishing around prairie creek yesterday and caught a 17" walleye on a clown megabass. A few largemouth but the bite wasnt as good as I expected.
