  1. Very nice fish! I also was floating the Jacks Fork this past weekend! I didnt fish while my wife and her parents were floating because I knew I'd be paddling. I wade fished the Ally Springs camp ground and caught this nice smallie! One of the biggest smallmouths that I have caught!
  2. Wow thats a lot of snow! Should I be worried about flooding? Not wanting to drive 3 hours to get there and cant fish...
  3. Thanks for the advice Andrew! Yes I do agree fish on Current are VERY easily spooked. So drift like you do on your videos?
  4. In agreement with everyone else! Very nice video! I've seen a bunch of the other videos you put up on Youtube. Looks like its about time to get a new net! lol
  5. lol yeah I still need to learn how to tie my own. I still buy them from Feather Craft or Cabelas.
  6. Thanks very much for the information Joe! Its much appreciated! I ALWAYS handle the browns with care just a quick picture and back in water and take time to revive them. I think i have all those flies in my fly box but I'll have to check. Only thing not sure about is if i have Midge emergers.
  7. Hi everyone! Im looking to fish the Current below Montauk State park. I havent fished this during this time of year. What flies work this time of year? Nymphs streams better? With the weather going to be in the low 50's should I expect any dry fly action? Hoping to get some browns! Only have caught 3 in the 14 years I've been trout fishing. Any info would be helpful and appreciated! Thanks! Mike
  8. Yeah it was a tuff day but when it warms up more the fishing will pick up! Yeah you're right would be a lot better then cleaning attic lol Im planning on putting up more reports when I go down to Maramec Springs, Bennett Springs, Montauk and Current River when I go. So stay tuned!
  9. Got down to Maramec Springs at about 8:30AM. Weather was a little cold in mid 30's and lots of wind. The wind made it difficult for me to case my four weight. I starting fishing the main hole. Started with a #16 red copper john with rubber band legs(That I got from Feather Craft) Didn't get any bites with it for first half hour so switched over to a #8 olive wolly bugger. Got some bites but missed on hook sets. Changed to a #18 red copper john. I noticed around me that most of regular fishing people fishing with bait from bottum or deep below a bobber so I set my fly deeper below my indicator. I got bites but missed on hook sets. Finally hooked and landed fish. It was a small male rainbow and had nice color to him. Caught two other small rainbows. I did let all three go. By this time its 11:30AM and took break for lunch and back on water at 12:00PM Decided to start fishing the trophy area. Stayed with the #18 red copper john. Stopped above the first fal and made about 20 casts and no bites. Then walked to above second fall and made about 20 casts and caught one small rainbow and let it go. Then walked down to bridge. Made about another 20 casts and caught one rainbow and let it go. Started to make my way back and on way back I spotted a big rainbow under a floating moss. Had to be at least two-three pounds easy if not bigger. Started throwing streamers and wooly buggers at it and didnt get any reactions from it so moved on. Made it back to main hole and continued to use #18 red copper john. Caught my 4 trout limit and headed home at 3:30 pm. I give my trout away that I keep to family or my boss.
  10. Hi! Anyone been down their lately? I'm planning on heading down there Tuesday morning to fish. Water been clear or off color? Any info would help and be appreciated! Thanks! Mike
