  1. I am only going to do one fly per person (however I am doing two different patterns because one of them is extremely easy). However you want to ship them is fine. I can send them back to you in the same box, container etc. As long as the packages are not to large, I will foot the cost postage. Thanks Jason
  2. That is probably a good idea. I have fished down on the White near Norfork (the town) somewhere, just don't remember where but I'm sure I'll find it. It was low water when I was there and I was able to wade all the way across, probably not the case now, but fishing was great and I had the river to myself.
  3. I always come down for 3-4 days over Thanksgiving and I am thinking about heading to the Norfork for one of my days of fishing....
  4. Revised: OK, here is what I have for participants. Let me know if I missed anyone. Kicknbass Lshack2 (Larry) Strangercreek (Jason Filbert) Zach Bearden Kansas Fly Fisher (John) Troutchaser Littleredflyfshr Flyfshn (Mike Utt) Hfdhoosier (Dennis) I won't list the actual flies just in case anyone changes their mind on a pattern. Since there aren't many of us I am going to do two. One will be a real easy dry midge pattern I use at Taney alot when the frequent hatch takes place and the other will probably be an original Adams in a small size (20 or smaller). Would a month be long enough for a due date? If this is a problem let me know. I know the holidays are coming and people are busy... Jason Filbert I think we have finalized this finally. I will PM my address to everyone...

  6. It looks like after Saturday we can get started. I guess everyone who is interested has already replied. Anyone else?
  7. seven people, I wonder if we can get to an even 10
  8. That makes 4 participants. I will wait until the end of the week to see if anyone else is interested. I'm not sure what I will tie yet, but I will come up with something, I'm looking forward to seeing some dry flies tied by other people that fish Taney
  9. Thanks. Hopefully there will be more interest after the weekend. not many replies yet
  10. I know these are more work but I would be glad to host... just wondering Jason Filbert
  11. I fished all weekend with #22 barbless soft hackles & midges and dropped to a 7X tippet. I did have more hookups, but also lost more fish. I did not realize the flies I tied were on barbless hooks, so I gave them a try...easier to release when you land one My percentage is probably less than 50%, but I still have a good time on the water
  12. the line up just isn't the same. I know a couple of folks who saw them in KC back in the 70s. I told them they might have seen the show where Steve Gaines played on stage with the band the first time (in KC)
  13. I'm sure at least half the people on this forum know the date... I wasn't really old enough to remember... Does anyone know it? Jason
  14. Will the "Catch Fish Classic" derby produce a crowd that is shoulder to shoulder? Just wondering if anybody has an idea of the turn out. I might change my plans to a different weekend to make sure I get some good time on the water. I know these events produce some crowds at the trout parks but I have never really noticed at Taney (I don't think I have ever been there during a tournament). Thanks Jason
  15. interesting bit of Ozark history...thanks
  16. I use a TREO because of work (this is what they provide), and because of the built in compatibility stuff with Exchange server(no need for a separate third party server to sync calendar, contacts, etc wirelessly). They both work with POP email/local PC sync though so both decent devices for the average user, as well as the iPhone. I've dropped mine about 7,000 times and it still works, but doesn't look very good Jason
  17. I guess I'm glad my wife won't let me have a boat, I like to wade fish anyway
  18. The TREOs and Blackberries work pretty well to, but if you are just wanting email/internet, the iphone would be a neat toy, not much for business environments though (at this point anyway from what I have seen). I have seen a great deal of other cell phones that have email/internet capabilities also. Most of them work around the same type of email setup/concept good luck....
  19. You can purchase a connector that will connect your hard drive directly to a USB cable, so that you try to access it. This will let you recover any files. You can also remove the drive and plug it into another PC and access it that way (a few more steps involved and different steps depending on what type of hard drive it is). I can't tell for sure with out actually looking at it, but it could very well be a hard drive going bad. Has the PC been unusually slow or noisy? (sometimes you can pull the cover off and hear a clicking/knocking or a "stuck" noise coming from the drive).
  20. The registry cannot load the hive (file): \SystemRoot\System32\Config\DEFAULT Was this on a black screen before Windows started? Since this was accompanied by a blue screen I would back up any files (if you can get it to boot at all, or take the hard drive out (or have someone do it) and connect to another PC to see if it can be accessed to get your files etc). try to repair windows, or restore registry remember that hard drive failure is not always "sudden" and could start working fine for a while before crapping out completely hope this helps...
  21. Try Rogers Lures in Libery Missouri. I think the site is rogerssportinggoods.com or something like that. Last time I was there they had the 7 ft models with snake guides (as opposed to the spinning guides). They were on sale at the time for $10, but that was a while back. I don't think all of their inventory is online either.
  22. Baldknobbers-Vigilantes on the Ozarks Frontier by Mary Hartman (Author), Elmo Ingenthron (Author) Interesting account of the things that happened in the region post civil war. It seems to be consistent with other short pieces I have read on the topic (names, places, events, etc) The whole read was pretty interesting,
  23. I haven't been to the outlet store in a while. That is really interesting though...thanks for the info Jason
  24. I think the 270 rods gone but there are a bunch of CV2 and Classics for $20-30 with no tubes. I wonder if they are demos, used, or what?, not assuming anything but there is a bunch of them and the seller keeps starting new auctions. The grips on the rods in the pictures look good. Like BPS rods or not, these are a good buy. (hopefully they are not stolen) ebay search for "white river fly rod"
  25. Do you have another monitor you can try? That will at least eliminate it as the cause. If it does it on another monitor you could have a video card problem. If your PC has a built in video, you can still purchase another card and install it (there are very inexpensive cards available if you don't need anything fancy). Other causes could be Windows itself (not as likely) but if you have had any other strange activity that might be an angle (virus, corrupt video card driver, rogue application causing problem). There are certain programs that I have seen make the video "act up" including Google earth, gotomypc, gotomeeting, logmein.com (all of these are really good programs but sometimes there is video incompatibility). I'll also mention something that I forget to do myself sometimes, which is check to make sure all cables are tight, and maybe disconnect and reseat them, which you might have already done) I'm glad to give whatever advice I can....I do this stuff for a living....I hope this helps...sorry for the wordy answer as I get in the mode of explaining things alot
