Weather getting better and I'm getting excited. Personally all the really large smallies I've caught have been on wooly buggers with a brass head . Even so I spend most of the time fishing with some kind of topwater,just because it is fun. Usaully use my 8 weight in case I decide to throw some of those crawdad/sculpin things I tied 20 years ago that I still carry around. Hope everyone has a great spring. Nothing like smallies on a fly rod for fun.

License Checked For The First Time Ever

I was asked for my licence at Busch Wildlife of all places a couple weeks ago. No big deal at all but it made me wonder since I've been going there for 30 years and that was a first. Last time before that was at the end of Blue Springs Creek where it joins with the Meramec. That was about 20 years ago but it impressed me since the agent had to plow through the brush to get to me LOL. I'm glad they are doing their jobs. In another life that would be the job I would want to have. -
