  1. Access shouldn't be a problem since the cabin we have reserved is literally on the bank of the creek. I guess I just wondered mainly if that part of the creek, right above its confluence with NFOW and right below big spring (3rd magnitude) is bass water or if there are any of the famous NFOW rainbows there. Thanks again all.
  2. I'll be staying at Twin Bridges in August and wondered if there was anything I should know about lower Spring creek, which is right out the cabin door. I'll be fly fishing, I've fished north fork before, is there any advice out there? fly selection for that time of year, etc. thanks all, Brad
  3. While it doesn't really say too much besides "ask someone else" here is the reply from MDC: At no time are you allowed to venture on to private land to access a bridge or other fishing spot without landowner permission. Bridges are generally considered public access to rivers and streams. If there is an access road that leads under the bridge, and it is not marked as "no trespassing", generally you're okay. However, parking and getting access under the bridge can be a challenge sometimes. Many newer bridges no longer provide a convenient right-of-way to get under the bridge. Safety concerns are really the biggest factor. If MoDot or the county determines that it is unsafe for the public to have access on top of or under a bridge, they can prohibit access to fishing. The same goes for parking. Some counties may not allow parking on the side of the road near a particular bridge. Again, at no time are you allowed to venture on to private land to access a bridge or other fishing spot without landowner permission. Two things I would suggest. Contact the county assessor's office and find where the public and private land surrounding the bridge is. Then contact the Conservation Agent for that county to see if parking or fishing around that particular bridge is prohibited. You can find the county Conservation Agent on our website at http://mdc.mo.gov/node/19935. I hope this helps,
  4. That sounds like an idea to try, thanks!
  5. I know I could probably get away with it, but I'd prefer to operate within the law. I've been up that far in perche in a friends John boat when the Mo was high and backing water into the creek. It isn't fast, but nothing is in this part of the state. I have paddled up from providence to Hwy K and back.
  6. I sent the same question to the MDC but haven't yet recieved a reply, I'll post it when I do.
  7. Specifically, I'm talking about Perche creek in Columbia from Gillespie Bridge road to the providence access in case anyone knows the area.
  8. There's a Mo trib creek near my house that has a public access near the mouth. I've always wanted to float it in the spring from a bridge crossing 8 or so miles upstream, but there are no trespassing signs plastered all over. Is there a legal right of way at the bridge and how big? I've no intention of leaving a vehicle there as both pit in and take out are within 15 minutes of the house, so the wife could drop me and pick me up. My google searches have failed me in finding an answer thus far. Thanks all, Brad
