  1. The web app will be free...if this thing moves forward like I plan, we would discuss building an actual 'app' that is downloaded to the phone as opposed to a simple, mobile (responsive) website that you can visit on your phone. This helps me trim the costs of getting started up. At the moment, a donation doesn't secure a perk, only helps to get the thing into existence ......but you raise a good point. I should do some thinking on this...
  2. Multiple depths is not an issue. If we had to settle on one depth these initial sensors would be at, what would it be? 5ft is no issue, nor is 15ft, but both as I get started would increase costs. These will be on dock and I can set them as shallow or deep as needed. I was actually considering about 5ft initially.
  3. This is more than possible fishinwrench and would simply be an improvement because this would obviously almost double the cost of doing this project (two sensors at each site). It doesn't mention a depth I would set these gauges as this has not been determined and is one reason I'm asking for feedback SO, if you'd like temp readings from TWO depths from a dozen spots live online, better put back 3 or 4 of those swim baits. I've got to start somewhere!
  4. @Champ188 this is good to hear! If you have any more feedback, I'd love to hear it! If I can get this off the ground, I would love to have some conversations with you and other wise-fishermen and women about the specifics of what temperatures mean what for different species...i.e. crappie, bass, etc. Thanks for the comment. Love your posts on this forum...they've helped me tremendously.
  5. Phil...thanks so much. Guys, if you have questions, please ask either here or on the link above. I would absolutely love your feedback.
  6. These are from Monday night, no dead ones then but water hadn't been too low for long either...
  7. Ruthead, not sure why they've completely shut it off and that does lend concern to what JestersHK has said about the O2 levels likely dropping because of it. Table Rock is down to less than 913.5 so they can't keep pulling it down too much I'd imagine. I caught several last night that seemed to be active and chipper and not at all happy that I hooked them, put up some good fights. I always ease them back into the water and let them come to before fully releasing them. I guess they did take some time to revive, but I wasn't really thinking about that at the time. On another note. there are sculpin thick. Everywhere. Nice sized ones too...some a good 4-5 inches and fat. I have a pictures somewhere on my phone of them but am on my computer at the moment.
  8. Also, found several sculpin, I assume from the water dropping out. Always nice to see what they may be chasing ...
  9. Just thought I'd let everyone know that the corps has reduced generation to the point that taneycomo is currently at 702ft and change.... Which is the lowest I've seen it all year. Boaters beware, waders rejoice. I always the tail water elevation and generation the same place Phil links to: http://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil/pages/data/tabular/htm/tabrock.htm
  10. Hi, I have never fished the White, but am a local in Branson, MO and live minutes from the MDC hatchery and access to Taneycomo, so if anyone has any advice for me I can surely return the favor if you have any questions about my neck of the Woods. My fishing buddies and I are planning on heading to the White River below Bull Shoals Dam (at least we assume this would be best, another thing we may need advice on) in October for some fishing and fun. We don't own a boat so we'd need a place that either has boats available or is decently close to the State Park where we can rent a boat. We are very aware of the high water levels and releases from all the Corp dams, they've been running four units from Table Rock it seems all year, although they've recently slowed that some since TR is back down to 917. We've been doing research, but we'd like some suggestions on where to stay, where not to stay, and just any advice you may have to offer us on this virgin trip to the White River. Any replies are appreciated, Ben
  11. Wow, awesome Brown! Nice work.
  12. Lol jtram I did end up dumping the beer! You win some you lose some lol.
  13. Here's some pics of the fat LeRoy Brown I caught at 11:30 after all this... Better report is a new topic now...
  14. A buddy and myself were out at 7pm yesterday at outlet #2 in anticipation of them turning off the water at 8pm (I luckily overhead a discussion about this at the fly shop). It dropped out in a hurry from 708+ to 701-ish. Scuds and night crawlers were absolutely everywhere on exposed banks. We put on the waders and started up by main outlet. Buddy was fly fishing and I was using flys and a bubble float on an ultralight spinning reel... Just something I'm trying and has worked pretty well recently. We both had some eggs, scuds, wooly boogers. Nothing. Not a bite. At about 9pm we went down past what we now know was the MDC preparing at the launch ramp for electroshock surveys, we headed to the steps, and on down to our usual spot...the lake is much different after this season than this past winter but I hooked one on a red rooster tail out in what little current remained but he kicked it. Two hours later, Nothing. The MDC Armada was heading our way (which was neat but a little creepy with the heavy fog) so we went back up to outlet #2 and it had dropped way out by then.... We caught one fish. One very fat, very angry LeRoy Brown....here are some pics. It was about 11:30 and I hurled a rooster tail out in the main current got nailed and it was on like donkey kong with the ultralight! So great. Didn't have a net so that was interesting and nerve racking but it worked out. Looking forward to both trout and hopefully some better small mouth fishing this fall if TR will normalize. Released tired after a fight but unharmed. Anyways, that's that. ben
  15. Just want to thank all of you guys for giving accurate and Timely fishing reports...the fishing report on Branson.com seems so much like an advertisement for Roboworms and Tightlines UV that it's discouraging...not to mention, Eric Prey hasn't posted a fishing report in 16 days.... I think both of the above products are great, but, even as an amature hobby fisherman, I do know that not one company has the best worms or lures, unless we're talking about Dixie Jets.... So, thanks to all you Pros who give it like it is! We all appreciate you more than you know! Hope I don't leave anyone out, but Bill Babler and Champ give awesome fishing reports, and ask nothing in return. Happy fishing!
