  1. I'm out of Holiday Island...aka... "Floating Trash Marina". Would love to get some advise on how to get them in this stained water. Went out today and threw a red Wart, chartreuse spinner bait, Biwaa Divinator (caught 6 on that last week) and a jerk bait... no luck. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!
  2. Looking for some historical perspective on the HI Marina. Has there ever been this much debris? Does the Holiday Island village/city do something about it or do they just wait until it sinks/floats away? I talked to the folks at the marina and they claim people at the HI office told them it would float back out. I think they're nuts. There are entire trees in the water!
  3. Thanks for all of the feedback guys! I hope to get back out in a few weeks... one more trip for 2014!
  4. I've got a Red/White Z7 and was around Eagle Rock... stop by and chat the next time!
  5. For the last two weekends I fished from Holiday Island to Eagle Rock and yesterday, up to the Kings, in search of a good bite. All things indicated that it should be good... windy banks, decent water temp, etc. I threw everything at them... Warts, Jerkbaits, Spinnerbaits, Swim Baits, etc. I have caught a total of 3 fish... only 1 keeper! I haven't thrown a jig or a spoon... as I really don't like those baits. Perhaps I should get to like them... Is it just me or is this some of the toughest fall fishing I've ever seen on Table Rock?!? Longing for Spring!
  6. Quick question... my boat is at Holiday Island and I know they are closed for the season. Do any of the other marinas like Big M or Eagle Rock, open on the weekend for gas?
  7. Fished last night and about 8 total hours today. Chilly way to start the day, but between 6 and 7am I caught about 9 - two keepers. All on topwater - Yellow Magic Pop-R. Continued to get them on top water throughout the day - in addition to the Pop-R, I was throwing a Gunfish. Tried the Ned rig, couldn't connect today. As soon as the sun came out, there wasn't a place that I couldn't see massive amounts of shad... this lake is FULL of shad. Is it always like this? Heading out in the morning.... cheers!
  8. Fished Saturday between rain and got a few on topwater and tried my hand with a Ned Rig. Nothing to write home about. Sunday was much better - fished from about 7am - 11am and got 25 - all on topwater - Yellow Magic Pop-R, Gunfish, War Eagle White Buzzbait... mostly short K's with a few LM and Goggle Eye mixed on. Only about 3 keepers - all on the buzzbait. Fished mostly deep bluff walls in shaded areas. Bite was still going strong up until 11am. Have a great week.... back to work....ugghhhhh
  9. Thanks for the heads up guys. Without generation and a slow/idle speed I was OK a few weeks back. This week, with the generation, it kind of freaked me out. I think I'll stick with the Rock!
  10. Went out tonight at 5pm - hot and humid for sure! Headed up the White and stopped around Beaver Town and pitched a football jig (PB&J) and got one short spot. Kept going for about 30 minutes and decided to take a run all the way up to the HWY 62 bridge. Water is flowing - Beaver Dam must be doing some serious generation. Tried my hand at some Rapala fishing for trout. Floated back down for about an hour, but could not connect. Ran all the way back to HI and started fishing top water with a Yellow Magic pop-r (silver) at about 7:30 - Within 30 minutes I had about 9 fish! Unreal... it was like they just turned on. A mix of Spots and LM, the best going about 2 lbs. Decided to see if I could attract a bigger fish and tied on a War Eagle white buzzbait - it worked - landed about a 3.5 in a minutes. Great way to end the week! See you on the water tomorrow... look for a Nitro Z7 around HI all the way up to Big M. Looking forward to cooler temps on Saturday. Cheers!
  11. Wow... with two drownings on Beaver Lake yesterday, you think people would get a clue. Skiing at night... nuts.
  12. Hello - New to posting on this forum but have been reading the post and have really appreciated the details from everyone. I hope to be able to contribute as well. So let this be my first post.... I love to fish topwater! It was great hearing from various reports like Pete Wenners that the topwater bite was turning on. Went out yesterday and did really well, mostly on a Luck Craft Gunfish and a Megabass Popper. Lots of short fish but at least 3 keepers - all keepers were LM. Went out again yesterday evening and didn't get as many #'s, but got better quality. Again, with the Gunfish - all way back in the creeks. It's really odd that they are back there already. Today was a different story... nothing but a bunch of panfish who attacked my Gunfish... I'll try to keep posting on how I'm doing around the Holiday Island area. I fish most weekends - at least 2-3 days.
