construction related....as for our kids...It is our duty to teach and prepare them to enjoy these things the same way and with the same respect we do and those before us did...I am almost 50 and still feel the butterflies and excitement i did as a 5 year old knowing i was going fishing...still dont sleep well the day before with nervous energy keeping me awake...if we implant that in others then I hope we will have these opportunities for years and generations to come. Anyone reading these forums probably feel the same..so be safe, stay positive and help when and where you can..

so after running a small business deemed "essential" for 20 years and dealing with numerous obstacles..including now the health and well being of employees, their families, my family and others...one thing...one thing has helped me thru these times...THE LAKE...there is no better therapy mentally or physically than that feeling of being down at Table Rock...Fishing, mowing, swimming heck just reading a book on the deck recharges us all in a way that we can tackle the day to day "life" issues..any of you reading this knows that to be true...and in a time of social distancing no better place than on the lake fishing...I get a kick out of the thought of closing the ramps...never in 20 years has another boater been close enough to breath on me..unless its my son LOL..so..keep fishing ladies and gentleman..take a deep breath once in a while..watch the eagles fly around Big M and the loons cry and enjoy the freedom..
-
yes its about erosion but they left to small of an area for even two boats to put in at Big M..and people who dont know the rock is there or when water is stained are crushing props down there...i appreicate the corp efforts across the board BUT we have a true national gem with Table Rock and they constantly seem to go against common sense...closing viney that is always busier than Big M campground is a prime example...if you drive down ! 44 two of the largest RV sales on side of road tells you people are still camping and Rv ing yet our lovely lake seems to close down areas where campers can enjoy...if they tell you its about costs..then raise the camp fees still extremely cheap for staying on such a beautiful resource

are we talking pro guide by optima..right?
-
yup was quite interesting considering our house is about 1.5 miles from where I spotted him...

after fishing all weekend and heading back to the city sunday around 1030 am on M highway had to stop the truck and allow a black bear to cross the road about two miles out of Big M...that was a sight I havent seen in 17 years living on that end..

great report...on your rant it seems with any water temps over 80 the livewells are too hot for the kentucky/spot keepers to live more than hour or so..smallies and largies seem to make it...I think a lot of the smaller tourneys should look in to taking digital pictures or just pictures of length..if we mistrust our fellow fisherman enough that we feel they would cheat then heck i dont need to fish with them..save a lot more fish that way for sure...similar results for son and I this past weekend fished from shell knob bridge to cambell point great fish off deep points...problem was boat traffic by noon kicked us off the water...
-
it was messed up saturday as well (dock)..they also had no ability to pump gas friday..went down to eagle rock great guy clean place
-
not sure if thats a good thing...46 the high friday? yikes largemouth lock jaw??? bring in the little baits and hope....then the wind blows you against the bluffs lol
-
send me the gps numbers and i will go retrieve it for you...wink wink
-
like champ and several others we braved the lovely weather saturday and early sunday morning...fished some of the chocolate milk up Rock Creek and ended up finding our fish shallow in small coves where the rain water was dumping in...we even found bed fish (couldnt really see them but could tell by the male bite)...8 keepers best just under four lbs. 11 pound bag saturday and four keepers in two hours sunday..overall totals 31 saturday and 18 sunday am...any time on the ROCK is great ..but made better by my partner...MY SON...have fun be safe lot of floating debris out there
-
son and i both wear them...i will add though you still get wind burn thru them at times...so beware may still need some level of lotion...and they are great when its cold to keep your face/neck that little bit warmer......just make sure to lower them before going into banks and even marinas..!!!!! LOLOL
