  1. Awesome video. That's not something we do much of on LOZ. Fish are getting deeper by the day now so I may have to try it.
  2. I have to say LOZ is my home waters and favorite lake. The fish here don't seem nearly as finicky as other lakes. Bass and crappie are nearly always biting at least a little.
  3. Nice job releasing a 27" bass. It would be a shame to kill that fish. That's what crappie and walleye are for.
  4. I have 15 different styles of loomis rods. If your using a 3/4 oz and up in 15' and deeper the best choice in my opinion is bcr 855 . If 1/2 oz or less then the BCR 854 would be the one I'd pick. This rod is 7'1"
  5. I work construction so I'm out in the sun every day. Like most people I didn't worry about it when I was younger. But now at 45 I have terrible skin. From years of unprotected skin. My step dad also worked const. And never wore a hat. He got melanoma and died at age 50. I have kids of my own now and I wear sunscreen and protective clothing every day. I guess it's worth something to know what's going to kill me. At least I can maybe slow it down. I still love a sunny day but I try to be a little smarter about it.
  6. That's a nice buffalo. I've only gigged below bagnel once and we killed a mixed bag like you did but we mainly seen spoon bill. I probably should have gone down stream farther but I wasn't familiar with that area. Wind and rain makes for tough gigging. You guys did great.
  7. I've been after crappie 3 times in the last couple weeks with mixed results. Had 30 keepers yesterday in the linn creek area. They were 20' deep and if I wasn't pulling over a limb I couldn't get a bite. Every thing I fished was just inside creek coves.
  8. Sorry. Just noticed you posted a report after I asked. Thanks

  10. So we're the crappie biting pretty good the day of the tournament ?
