I work construction so I'm out in the sun every day. Like most people I didn't worry about it when I was younger. But now at 45 I have terrible skin. From years of unprotected skin. My step dad also worked const. And never wore a hat. He got melanoma and died at age 50. I have kids of my own now and I wear sunscreen and protective clothing every day. I guess it's worth something to know what's going to kill me. At least I can maybe slow it down. I still love a sunny day but I try to be a little smarter about it.
