Go find yourself a tree hanging out of the water between 20 and 30 feet deep and ty off. Get a submersible light, green in color, drop it down 5 foot or so. Then just split shot or drop shot a live minnow.

Yea unfortunately that was a solo trip, couldn't get any of my buddies to go with me. The stinkin carp were the ones that got my rods and my drop light tangled up, one was probably close to 10 pounds.

Fished under lights in 25' fow, caught fish anywhere from bottom to 10'. Limits on whites and crappie. Best crappie I have ever caught 1 @ 14" 6 @ 13" 3 @ 12" and the rest between 11" and 12". Only 1 keeper walleye, 2 shorts, 2 stupid carp and 1 dumb drum, first ever.

No just our half, fish fry next weekend with our life group. Already ate half of them last weekend with our extended family.

I must have missed the story about the 6 bass?? Sounds like someone got butt hurt because fish weren't released! I guess everyone is going to have an opinion and they have that right, no matter how idiotic.

Cleaning wasn't to bad, it did take about 3 hours or so. We cleaned them together which makes it fun, versus doing it alone.

Hopefully my post about taking home all those whites and crappie hasn't offended anyone, everything was definitely legal and as far as moral, well all those fish will be eaten by some very happy people.

Took the pontoon out sunday night with my wife, my buddy and his wife. Fished cedar ridge off a cove 22 fow around 70 degree water temp. From 8pm to 4am with lights. Managed exactly 100 fish total, 89 came home, 4 person limit on whites plus 29 crappie. Best part was getting the wives on so many fish, spent most of the night baiting hooks and netting fish! FisFirst night trip with no keeper walleye but only 2 or 3 short crappie, most being 11" to 12". I will post pics if I can figure out how to from my phone.

Limit/Law/Game Warden Question

I figured I wouldn't take any chances, just save myself the hassle. If I'm lucky enough to catch a limit then I'm lucky enough! -
If I fish till midnight and catch a limit by law or a game warden can I start keeping fish after midnight? My thoughts are as long as I keep them on separate stringers I should be good because it is technically a different day, as long as I don't break the possession limit. I anyone knows for sure I would appreciate some incite. like I'm gonna catch a limit, I couldn't catch my butt with 2 hands! Lol

My buddy caught one at the shoals with a swimming minnow, I thought he was crazy till he brought it over to me. Sure enough it was probably about a pound and a half or so.

The thing is we fished from 10 pm to 2:30 am, so very late at night bite!

I have family out from Colorado this week and will be camping out and launching at elbow rd. We have hardly fished the area and was hoping for a little help in knowing what type of fishing we would have the best luck with. Like would crappie happen to be spawning in any of the coves in the area? I not asking for anyones honey hole just some info on what would fish and areas we should target. Thanks so much in advance to any helpful info!

Got my limit last night and my buddy got 13, fished from 7:30 to 12:30. Also threw back 3 dinks and 2 short walleye, had around 3 get off one of which I had lipped and took a step slipped and had to catch myself, lucky fish! Mostly all on a swimming minnow 1 on my fly rod, great night to be out few people and sawsome shooting stars!

How can you tell if its spawned out, or difference between male and female if there are no eggs? I've caught between 40 and 50 fish this season and only like 5 have had eggs, so I just assumed the rest were males. I was looking at pics from last year and my best trips were the last week of April, hopefully that holds true I just need the water to drop about a foot so I can wade across!

Yea its close to a mile from the ramp to the shoals 4x4's can make it. I'm on my way with the 4 wheeler now its much faster and easier then driving my truck to shoals hopefully I can get into them!

Up at Taylor shoals last night and couldn't see them in the water like earlier this week which was thick. So was wondering if anyone knows if they kept moving up or just back into the deep water to hide from the chaos of all the people and boats Saturday. I did alright once everyone was gone finally gave up at about 2 am
