    On my drive down I listened to ike on his podcast. its the only big bass podcast out their and tons of big name pros are on it each week. I have never been an ike fan but he is really cool on his podcast. Coming from kvd land ike is not liked very much but other than his yelling that every fish is a giant the dude can fish.

    I found a site that you can make your own "power pole" going to look into it more when I get home. I can really see how power poles would help.

    That mean mouth made the trip for me. Can't catch that in Michigan. This one is a no doubt mean mouth.

    Had a great 4 hour trip. My son struggled with the wind and my back is not in fishing shape yet. Where I fish at home I never understand stood why people wanted a 36 volt 100 trolling motor. I understand now. Wow those ridges do some crazy stuff with the wind. Seemed like it would come from every direction at times. I also understand wanted a big heavy glass boat better. Thanks again to everyone this has been a ton of fun. Will be back

    8 fish in a short trip this morning. really tough wind light boat. four good keepers with the fishes the day being a two and three quarter pound mean mouth. shaky head was the best bait

    Thanks for all the help Everyone. I think I fished too fast today and maybe too shallow. One more day on the rock until next time. Its been a great trip. You guys have a beautiful area. Nice people and beautiful surroundings. We will see how long my old linebacker body last tomorrow. I bet it will feel better if we are catching them. Thanks for all of your hospitality. This will be an annual trip for my family. If I ever figure out how to post pictures I will show you some Michigan bass this summer.

    Humbled today. 5 fish and 5 keepers. Tough morning. One fish on the ned and 4 on the wart. Threw everything but the a rig at them. Ran all over the place. Got one more day. Every one I talked to was struggling. Tough bite

    Thanme. I thought that by mid morning if we have not gotten any size I might throw the rig around main lake points a little deeper than we could fish the warts today. I did drag a swing head with a black and red menace but no takers. If the wart is still on tomorrow might not throw much else other than a ned or something to follow up. New day tomorrow and I can fish from 7-6 if I want. So I will probably throw a few things at them and see if anything sticks. Biggest bass so far was from the bank 3 1/2 lb large mouth.

    Not the first time I have heard you mention a coat hanger and I haven't been around long. Lol

    All my a rigs are 5 wire. What do I do with the other two? Tried cutting the hooks off a jig but dont have good pliers. Any other ideas? Just leave them bare? Not sure if I brought extra blades or not.

    Fished for 3 1/2 hours today. For a first trip was not bad. My son out fished me (I wanted to make sure he wanted to come back) we caught 11 fish with 4 keepers. 1 spot, one black and 2 small mouth. Biggest being 3 lb small mouth my son caught. Most on warts just inside creek arms near wood and rock. Couple early on the ned both small mouth. Good start tough in the wind with a small tracker.

    This place is beautiful. Fishing half day tomorrow. Either Beardsley or cleverly depending on the wind. Would you start in the am at the lake point or start up the creek arm?

    Got to the resort in the room wasn't ready. So I pulled out a pole at the beach a big cedar. Put on a wiggle wart and in 10 min caught my first spot 13 inch and a 3 1/2 lb large mouth. Dont know how to post pics yet. But good start.

    Thanks for the report. I am in st. Louis now on my way down. Weather report seems to be getting better for my three days mid week.

    Do you guys fish the fluke weightless or with a weighted ewg?

    So how are these possible storms at hot weather going to effect the bite? Will this push them up shallower south of the dam? I like the wind forecast 10 - 15 out of the south tue Wed Thu.

    Unless he has some rockcrawlers he will be safe while I am there. Went to my local bass pro shops affiliate owned by kvd brother and the salesman had not heard of the rockcrawler. I got a couple more little john mds. Can't find fish doctors up here. Got a pack of zoom centipedes and a bunch of other stuff I didnt need.

    You have to remember I live in kvd land literally same town. The bass pro shops here is owned by his brother and we outfitted all our lake Michigan boats from there. So lots of strike king stuff around here.

    darn... roll tide... but I do own a couple war eagles. darn it. Long story about me and bama but I dad played at Tennessee and we have always had to be opposite so I picked bear Bryant at age 5. Hate northern teams other than where I played. Almost sort of beat Auburn my senior year. Lost by a couple tds but we turned the ball over in the red zone.
