Bill, Thank you for the help. I knew I recognized your name. Took me a minute but you were the guide I was going to call based on recommendations from here. -

I know about the rates I was just being a smart butt. I did see several for 250 but I will probably just rent a the boat for an extra half day before my full days. I still have a couple weeks so hopefully it gets better. If the weather cooperates when the time comes is there some place I should run to? Will some fish move up in some of the creek arms or pockets by then? I don't mind making a run if I have a chance at more fish. My expectations are not that high with it being my first trip down. I was hoping that first week of April would be a good time to be there. I will keep reading the board. I am still getting accustomed to the number system you guys use. I see I can't fish too far south or I will be in Arkansas. How far could I run in an hour from big cedar and would it make a difference? I will be in a bass tracker lucky to do 35... -

My mother in law said something like "I better catch a bunchn of fish"... I told her I really dont care if I catch any as long as I am on the water. Put some mono on one pole for my son in case he gets frustrated with the florucarbon. -
I love this new live coverage. I watched the all of the live coverage for the classic. Shaw is fun to watch. He acts like he is doing a fishing show when he gets a camera in front of him. Martens seemed really frustrated with all of his problems today and a bunch of shorts. anyone else notice that the basstrax was not even close to what they showed on the live coverage? bass trax thing doesn't even have Lane in the lead.

I played division Ia college football and lettered 4 years which destroyed my body and then went into coaching for almost 20 years and I am only 42. I am surprised I am still married and able to walk. Not necessarily in that order... -

Up here most guys use 50 lb braid on all baitcasters and use floru leader. I flip with the 50 but throw florucarbon when cranking Etc. I use a mix of braid and florucarbon on spinning reels but will have florucarbon on all my spinning reels for this trip. What type of pole do u throw the need rig on? Shorter rod or more of a shaky head rig? -

thank you. I have the shaky head covered. I have not fished a wiggle wart since college fishing for steelhead. I grew up fishing lake Michigan so the big water part doesn't bother me. I respect the hell out of big water. I got my first boat on lake Michigan at age 14 and for the next 10 years did very well with silver fish. Marriage, being a head football coach, kids, etc... got in the way and fishing was put on the back burner. I gave up coaching just over a year ago because my 13 year old is a pretty good 3 sport athlete. I only have one boy and don't want to miss a thing. I got a boat and started bass fishing so he could do it with me and my obsessive behavior came back. I only know one speed and that is full blast...lol can't wait. I might have to make a trip to Indiana if the ice is gone before I head to Table Rock. Hopefully this summer Michigan gets rid of the closed season and I can fish as soon as ice out. -

Sounds like the ned rig down there is like a wacky rig senko up here. When it gets tough you can catch fish. It drives me nuts but you have to when u get blue bird skies and no wind In the summer. -

I get it about the wind. I can slow down and I am ok fishing for 5 bites. I feel like I can throw a jig or grub in the trees all day if I have to. I will fish the ned rig too. We can't fish predator fish in Michigan until the end of April so I am still rigging up my poles and boat. So I can throw florucarbon on everything if I need to. I will have a couple rods rigged with 6 lb floru for sure. I take it I should bring more spinning gear than baitcasters? -

I will have my flipping stick in the boat for sure. I could do that all day. Can I gey away with using a florucarbon leader on my 50 lb braid for jigs? -

Bass enforcer? Do you do that "DO nothing" while you are fishing something else? Or as your primary? -

I am on property too and called the marina and they said 8. I will be there a day or two early and bugging the heckler out of them. Maybe bribe a few people. -

I dont mind slowing down throwing plastic some but I would prefer to spend some of the time power fishing. I would love to throw a crank bait, spinner bait and jerk bait the whole time but I know that is not going to happen. Weather and water temp will dictate much of what I am doing. I will take every tip I can get. Thanks again -

You guys have given me a ton to digest. I did buy some zinkers today and ordered some mushroom head jigs. My head is spinning. If I could get a half day guide for 150 I would do it. It is a hard sell to the wife. I can sell another half day boat rental easy. The worst part about renting is that I am an early morning and night guy. I am always on the water before daylight. I don't thinkb i can get the boat til 8. I will be sitting on the dock waiting for them with all my gear. Borrowing a big Tule so I can bring 8-10 rods, tackle, etc... without it the wife was going to have to go naked... -

I am a daily poster on my local message board so I will be here every day. Really tough to launch my boat right now in Michigan with a foot of ice. Plus we have a dumb closed season so when I get back from table rock I have to make hour drives down to Indiana to fish. I will be doing those searches. Any place online that sells the ned heads? -

First off thanks for the reply. Second I have read about the ned rig and have a couple questions. Will a round head jig head work or should I pick up some when I get to table rock. As for the plastic I have boat loads of 5 inch senkos and yum dingers. I assume they will work but just are not as durable? Any particular color? I am sure I will hit a bass pro shops down that way and the ned rig seems like something my 13 year old would stay busy with. -
I have 3 days to fish april 7 8 9 coming down from Michigan actually from KVD's home town. From that area and in that time frame what would you guys concentrate on? Can I stay within a few miles of the resort? I will be renting a bass tracker rather than bringing my boat so I will just have basic electronics. Where should my focus be? What plastics should I bring? I should have most hard baits covered but I dont want to bring a suit case of plastics unless I have too. Would like to bring a variety of 20-30 bags. Will the fish be 10 foot or less? I have a bunch of wiggle warts and crank baits packed. Will there still be a jerk bait bite? What do you run on A rigs? I know you can only have 3 hooks. I am way too excited about this Trip. I just got back into bass fishing last summer but I have a bunch of previous experience. Kids sports got in the way for a few years. Thanks in advance for any tips or help. Anything would be appreciated.
