So I was thinking with the good spring rains, what creeks could be float and fished? I've got a 16' canoe and a trolling Motor itchin to get out there.

Going to head down 123 hwy, we went to blue hole last year, it was real nice but the bathrooms hadn't been kept up better if they weren't there if you smelled it you would agree.
Any fishing advice? Are there any catfish in the river around there? Goggleye? Want to catch some for dinner
Any advice on what the smallmouth biting on?

Took my son down by fall creek and we caught the snot out of them on orange or chartreuse power doughbait

Ya I never thought of doing that, got a couple spoonbill heads back in the woods somewhere might have to find one see how it looks

I don't know why someone would just take the nose. That makes me mad too, that all of our resource, if you kill it you should eat it!
Seth I agree I don't think a lot of them made it up river a fair amount probably. I think there are a good amount staging around point 15 up to walnut springs still though and I didn't see another soul snagging this weekend down there boat or shore.

When I say point 15 I'm talking off the bank doty cove, same off the bank under the bridge on flat creek..

You guys got any good spots down towards the lake for some big cats? Flat creek under 173 or point 15 any good? Been wanting to get into some big cats for a while. Want to get into some carp too.

Had it to myself last night at walnut springs, my son and I caught a small 2' spoonie and a pretty nice about 3'er male, we threw it back anyhow it was late and I got plenty in the freezer. snagging for about 3 hours pretty hard. Set out a few bank lines with shad for cats and not a thing there though.

Live "bleeding shiner" minnows. Not a smallmouth in the river that can or will resist these.

Nice! I saw a post on paddlefish staggers group on Facebook a guy got a few males above galena a few days ago, I hope we get another hard rain for a couple days before its over to get me moving..

Saw one next to a log small one about halfway between blunks and the shoal water real clear, and hit one by the ramp it pulled a good bit of drag then got off. Caught some shad for the freezer for catfish bait though! Never a wasted trip when your fishing! Them spoonies may not be running but they can't disappear..

Well you think we'll get another good run next time it rains through blunks and on up.. Maybe this weekend of we get some rain like we're supposed to they'll move

I bring mine and my son to drive me down there on it. Probably going to load it up and head up that way friday night if we get some rain

Thanks for the tip on the beaver tailwater. Will definitely try that sometime never been. We ended up camping at the north fork of the white upstream, caught more bass than I could count, hoping to get into some goggleye to eat, but nothing but little goggleye. We're going to save the buffalo for later.
