  1. I finally caught some! Put in at Cedar Ridge and as said in other post fish were in about 20 fow it was super clear and temp was around 60...it's not much of a report but it's all I got.
  2. Glad you ok...hope they catch whoever did it.
  3. What makes up a spawning cove? What should I be looking for? I think I've found a bunch of non-spawning coves! LOL
  4. Looks like the reward for getting wet was well worth it! Thanks for the great report.
  5. Me and the wife put in at Cedar Ridge around 8:30am on 4-11. We wanted to catch crappie and started out throwing jigs and flicker shads of different colors for a couple of hours with not even a nibble. Went to motor across the cove and couldn’t get the motor to fire off…finally realized the kill switch had been pulled. Made it to the other side went to drop the trolling motor and heard “crunch” I had stepped on the end of a rod and broke about 9 inches off the end. About an hour later ran across something and knocked a chuck out of the prop. Beached the boat to eat lunch and found the cause of all the bad luck…I had put 2 bananas in the sack with our lunch. They were the first things we ate and got rid of them. A stripper guide in South Carolina told me about bananas on a fishing boat were bad luck and had forgot about it until Saturday. We fished for crappie up till about three with no luck. Changed over to green pumpkin finesse worms rigged texas and caught 7 keeper large mouths on main lake points before having to leave for home. Will never make the mistake of bringing bananas on the boat again!!! Off to buy a new prop and rod!
  6. Awesome! Gonna try'em in the morning

  8. Thanks for all the great replies...keep'em coming! I plan on going in the morning and will try some of these out. The dinning center manager at Kentwood Hall gave me two old Rebel lures I think there a tinny-R there black and silver. She said her father in law wore'em out at Stockton with them and when they quit making them he order some from Rebel but the minimum order was 300.
  9. If you could only have 3 crappie lures on Stockton, what would they be? List answers by the different seasons that you fish for them (spring, summer, fall, and winter) I haven't caught a crappie at Stockton so I don't have any favorites and that's why I'm asking!
  10. What is the purpose of labeling if you have more than 3 poles?
  11. I started using this forum last year to gather info about Lake Stockton. My wife and I moved here from South Carolina this July will be 2 years ago. I have always fished creeks, rivers, and ponds, if I fished a lake I was in somebody else's boat. Not knowing hardly anyone in the area and being close to the lake we bought a Tracker and started fishing every chance we could. There was a thread on here last year that was about "if you could only have 5 plastic baits in the boat on Stockton what would they be?" I studied that thread hard and went thru it and picked out the baits and colors that kept coming up and bought those. We caught a lot of bass last year and it was all because of this forum. Otherwise I would have been trying what worked back home and hoping it worked here. I joined the forum this year because I want to start thread's along the same line but have it focused on fishing for crappie, walleye, and whites just haven't done it yet...but I wouldn't mind if someone else starts it! LOL We have fished a few times this year for crappie and whites with no luck but we're gonna keep trying and hope one day we get lucky. Thanks to all who post on here and I have enjoyed and appreciate the help the forum provides ALL of us!!!
