I put in at CC tonight and ran up turnback and fished the deep side to the right. the water temp showed 72 on my electronics, had to be due to the rain this morning. I set out to slow troll with minnows and jigs, and my 7 yr old started throwing a curly tail jig and catching crappie on the bank. I couldnt let him show me up, so I started casting too and we had a great time. Ended up 8 keepers, but I couldnt tell you how many little ones we threw back. The bite was very light, and we had several nice fish spit the jigs back at us when we got them close to the boat.
Only one of the smaller females had eggs, this is the first time out this year that most of my crappie were not egg carrying females.
