My son was down at Old State Park this weekend jug fishin.Friday they caught 3 and saturday night caught 2 more.They was using small perch and cut shad for bait.Tony was down sunday and caught 2 cats on the bombers crappie fishing over in Hawker.The bites on!

Here are the pics from today! Don't see anything,we didn't either. 1 drum, 1 crappie and 9 beers. Lot's of surfacing fish everywhere but our crank bite wasn't there. Back in Old State Park cove,way in the back the bass started busting shad in a big way and we estimate the fish 4-5 pounds that lasted 2-3 mins. At least 10 or more. Lake has alot more color than last week when we was down. Nice day though.We did talk to the bridge people on the way home,it closes at 7:00 in the morning for 14 days max.

Going down in the morning, Tuesday when Tony get's home from work. Should be on the water by 8:15 or so. Will have pics later that night. Remember they are closing the road at 215 bridge at Turkey Creek for 2 weeks starting this wednesday if you go that way coming from springfield.

Sweet, that was good. Will have to come down and be a spectator next round.That's as good as The Table Rock Man Eating Gar!

Caught some drum yesterday while crappie fishing,are they any good to eat? How to clean them filet them or what?

Good people and friends. Got down yesterday about 2:30 tuesday and the 4th crowd was already starting to show up.Launched at Old State Park if you want to call it that,boat and truck almost.The run off out of the end has pushed my fish out and deeper for my crankbait bite so went over to Hawker.Caught the biggest crappie I have got on Stockton this year a 16 inch fish,but only the one! Ended up with 9 keepers and 2 drum.What are they good for?Have a safe and enjoyable 4th. Dave

Marty I don't do it for a living! Probably should of refrased that. They was some friends of my dad's up from Oklahoma. We took two boats and I guided them to the fish and showed them what to do and they caught fish and had a blast.When all was said and done they paided for everything and still give me a couple of C-notes, but I had to clean the fish!!

Took down a couple this morning out of old state park and already back. All they wanted to do was catch some crappie and in deed we did! All but one had a limit with some 12 inchers and 3 that almost went 15. I might of found a new profession. Hell ya the tips were good.C-notes was everywhere.

Marty I have a question for you! Thursday we was down at old state park cove and I caught what looked like a white bass about 3 lbs but looked a little different. Is there hybrids in stockton? We did end up with a limit of crappie and the one white or what ever it was.We got on to a school of 12" plus crappie in one spot and every time by caught 2 good ones.

Where is Jason? He can take care of all that in fast fashion.

Just got done cleaning fish for Tony and 1/3 of the crappie still had eggs in them today. Some bloodly and some look like fresh sacs. Beats me!

The fish we have been catching the last 2-3 weeks about half of them had eggs still in them. I have heard they absorb them back up too!

I have seen boats up there every time I been down. The neighbor is doing the shuffle this weekend. I is going down later to help out with the cleaning process

Not really at all. The one weird thing is we seen a lot of catfish coming up surfacing around us monday morning early. We didn't catch any this time but in about 2 weeks they will bite the crankbait.

Mostly 1/4 oz. It say on the box goes 4-6 ft deep. Not true when using 4lb line and trolling.Tony has every imaginable color. If we don't catch a fish within 10-15 minutes we switch baits.Yesterday,solid red was one all white was good and the rainbow bait is what I call it cause it's got red,yellow and blue on it.

All around the mile long bridge area. Still can't believe some still have eggs. Fished mostly in 30 -45 deep water and the fish was 18-23. Tired and going to sleep.

Well not a bad day for not even getting out of the cove. Had 3 small walleye's about 10-11 inchs and 2 at14 3/4. Limited out on the crappie's with still a quarter of them with eggs still in them. Lot's of fish looked beat up from the spawn. Got down at 6:15, turkey's gobbled from about 6:30 -7:00. And all we got was this!

We are leaving Springfield at 5:00 to Old State Park and be in a green V bottom with a 50 horse on it. Suppose to be windy tomorrow and my uncle and my dad is coming down so we can show them how this works. Hopefully.

So what

Tomorrow, the 4th we will be doing the "Tony shuffle" for those big crappie's with our model A bombers. Probably putting in at Old State Park and go from there. Pics will be the nexted day.

Just got up from my late night nap. Got tired of cleaning fish lastnight. We started out about 5:00pm and have limits by dark with 6 walleye's. Same as you, all on model A bombers or fat free shads.We did have a nice cat on but it managed to get off at the boat. All our fish came from between mile long bridge and mutton.

I thought that this morning it would be not fisherman nice.But the fish is there. We had to put in at Old State Park thursday morning cause the wind at Hawker was so bad.

Trollin with the outboard with one of them fin things on the motor.Tony has a 50 horse on his and a 40 on the one the wife and I used sunday and yesterday.She left the pics on the picnic table when we left. She got broke off on a 8-10lb channel cat right at the boat and she was pissy the rest of the day cause it got her rainbow colored bait.We still managed a limit both days and caught more walleye's this weekend. I think 5 sunday and 4 monday. I would of thought the crappie would have spawned out by now but still a few with eggs. Most all the crappie we are catchin are black crappie too!

Talked to Ron last wedensday and said it took 33lbs for the long day saturday and short day sunday!
