  1. We have 4 boats, three big campers and a dozen guys at Mutton Creek Saturday to Thursday. Fishing rain or shine.
  2. wade down river to the pool across from the log house. I'll be there 10:30 ish. new red dodge truck. There is also a private pond across the way that is good. My boat is on Stockton. I'm enjoying local stuff untill the crappie get good again in a couple of weeks.
  3. rubber worm. under the bridge south of Nixa.
  4. Plenty of small mouth although most were short. Water felt great! Fun to jump in and drift down river with your pole.
  5. I'm staying at Mutton tomorrow and Saturday. I keep my boat there. Ruark is probably better camping though, although the covenience factor is nice at Mutton. Stayed at site 11 during crappie spawn for 5 days a ruark and was excellent.
  6. Good to know it is getting better. Thanks for the update. I'll be down Friday through Sunday

+1 I'm glad I'm not the only one. Short walleye and no crappie. Not even off the dock last night and early this morning. Was terrible.
  8. Minnows on a plain red hook. Green rooster tail with minnow behind it was good for trolling. Silver spoon with power bait on the dock. Slip bobber with minnow in the cove.
  9. Bank at 10 to 15 feet, but I havent been down in a couple of weeks. Fish may be deeper now. We got a 23" walleye right in that area. Maybe some old timers can chime in.
  10. I'm fairly new also. We have done well at birch all the way to Ruark. The shoreline by Ruark was good for trolling. Got Crappie and walleye there. Not sure if they have moved to deeper water though. There are some cedar trees below a bridge pier there that I limited out in two or three hours before. Always can catch some right off my dock at Mutton Creek. I'm going down in the morning for 2 days. Still figuring out where to go myself. Best of luck to you.

    Boat Size

I was fishing out of a 16ft jon with an old 30 on the back. Worked fine. Just upgraded to a 20' fishing pontoon. I like the camping at Ruark, but Im going to start camping at Mutton Creek this weekend for convenience because I rented a slip there. Both campgrounds have electric. Ruark is on the lake. Mutton is just up the hill, but they have a bar and restaurant and marina.
