Does anybody know where minnows can be purchased before 7 am? I went fishing last weekend and found that the bait and takle shop west of the Nemo bridge in the old church and the gas station near NN and 64 have shut down. Alps in Pittsburg sales minnows but doesn't open until 7 am. I appreciate any help. Chris

I fished in Big Hollow Cove just south of Wheatland and Cooper cove on the east side of the lake. I caught a couple right at 9 and 4 that where between 10-12".

I went crappie fishing for a couple hours for crappie last Sunday around stumps in 20fow. I was catching them on crappie jigs tipped with small minnows at 10-12 feet deep.

Oh man. I would love to get in on this one but I'm out of town for work. I plan to get in the Tournement on May 21st with by 6 year old daughter. She is claiming that she showed me how to catch crappie as she used minnows to pull in several keepers while I came up empty handed using jigs last week. I hope she stays hooked!

Bassangler, I recommend going to the Crappie Slayers tournament this Saturday. It's a small tournament that is a lot of fun and the teams are very friendly. I fished a couple last year and can't wait to fish in it this Saturday. You weigh up to 7 crappie. Dkelly-Sfd, Thank you for sharing! How many fow did you catch these slabs in and how deep were they caught at? I also went last Saturday morning and didn't have any luck with the crappie but I never fished the shallows either.

I plan on making the April 16th tournament. 3 persons per boat would be cool.

I didn't catch many crappie on minnows but I sure caught several perch on them last Saturday. I did see a lot of shade so maybe that's why I didn't have much luck catching crappie with minnows.
