  1. Last year I took the second week of May off and fished all week on Beaver. The fishing was great I would average about 4-5 fish a day between 6-20#s. I had only one pushing 20#s, but all the fish where on top water with some on a fly rod just for fun. Look at Beaver Fever guide service web site, they are always really nice on the water and seem to boat a lot of fish.
  2. SKMO, Do they have a dock there yet or do you still have to get in from the shore? Also how is the water above Hickory to the 86 bridge? With this low water and my luck it makes me a little nervous.
  3. Bill are you going to go?
  4. I was thinking about going this A.M., but when I woke up and checked the computer at 4:30 A.M there was a sharp increase in flow and I decided not to go. When I re-checked it about 7:45 A.M it was above 2000 glad I did not drive the 2 1/2 hours to watch water go by. Steve I am guessing that looking at projected generations from Key is about as reliable as Taney projected generations. I am going to plan on going either Saturday or Sunday next week if the water allows it. See ya
  5. I went today and looked at some of the ramps that I use on Beaver lake. I looked first at lost bridge south which by the picture is usable, but a long ways down. I also went to Indian creek which does not have a dock at this time. The best of the three was the Dam site boat ramp which looked like there was some type of tournament out of it today. There was some people trolling for striper right by the dam, but the lake did look low. Pray for Rain.
  6. Beaver lake is a good all around lake with a great Striper fishery, but I think table rock beats it in for bass fishing. The lake is very clear and calls for different techniques than with Table Rock. It is fun to fish with some really great smallies and the structure of the lake reminds me of the type of structure you would see in Canada. The spring brings great top water action with good size schools of spots all over the lake, and the fluke bite is great secondary to the clear water. I am not an expert by any means and I am sure there are guys on this post that can give you better/more information.
  7. Did you have to increase the weight of the flies you where using with the increased water flow? (IE small to mini-eyes to med. eyes)
  8. I walked out on a boat ramp just across from the PSO, but I do not know if it was open to the public.
  9. Steve , there was a lot of guys down there. I talked to one guy (who was pulling about 30 fish behind him) and he said that is the most people he has ever seen down there. Is that the most you have ever seen?
  10. Fished below zinc dam today and did fairly good. Had about 30-40 fish, but nothing really big. Did see one guy bring in about a 5-6 pound striper/hybrid, but that was about it. Had a lot of fun and a lot of wind. There was about ten guys down at the deep run below the power company and I only fished there for about 20 minutes, but that is where I seen the nicer fish landed. The carp you hook up with down there really make you think you have something nice, but they are still fun to fight. I had about 7-10 over 5 pounds with one big one that snapped me off. At least I hope it was a carp. I also had one sauger about 19 inches that put up a really good fight. When the water is off this is a really great place for plenty of winter action. Also good for a work-out for both your casting and stripping arm as the season starts to get here. Good Luck
  11. My Two year old loves to sit and watch when I have the Camera up on the computer. Today I left him for about one minute to check on his little brother and when I came back he had a detailed map of the North Fork of the White blown up on the screen looking at it. It took me a second to realize that he had gotten there by accident. Or did he?
  12. I have heard of two reports of white bass. One in Roaring River arm all big sows, and in the white river by Holiday island. This was last week and this cold front may have changed things.
  13. Steve do they seem to run less water on Sunday or does it just vary day to day. Thinking about a trip this Sunday, but do not want to waste a trip.
  14. 86 bridge over Kings River Arm is another good place for Whites and may be good for some W-eyes, but a little slow for kids.
  15. In your search engine put " The bass fishing home page" go to fishing reports, then AR. Take what they say with a grain of salt, but flipper seems to be very reliable. There seems to be some kids on it that are messing with people, but if you look and weed out the 100 fish days you will find some good information.
  16. The day we fished I think that is never got below 1000. I am really wanting to go back after that report. Road Trip Take 2.
  17. Steve, what part of the area where they fishing?
  18. Night fishing that time of year is great. You do not have the boat traffic like during the day, and the fishing is great. As some of the other guys have said watch this post and I am sure it will be a great resource for some great information. Have you ever fished at night for Bass? I know for all the Bass fisherman this seems like a dumb question, but in the state I grew up in it was not legal to fish after dark. If you never have post a question about night fishing on Table Rock and you will get all the information you need.
  19. Did you ever fish below Tenkiller?
  20. Welcome. Are you new to the area and what type of fishing do you enjoy.
  21. I talked to a friend that said he catches large sow white bass around the second week of Febuary way up the arm of one of the small creeks/rivers going into Table Rock. Has anybody else heard this and why would it happen? He said it only last for a short time and then they do not come back in until they do the spawn run. I think the area he is talking about is a short distance from the main lake and is not like James or Kings.
  22. Sorry Butts I did forget to reply. I know Tim and have talked with him about this a little. I think he will be a great resource. I think we where just going to order some cheap kits from Hook and Hackel and go in halves on the motor, etc. When we have a couple under our belt and I feel comforable with the process then I will think about making a rod out of a decent blank. Some of the blanks are still 300$'s and that is a costley learning curve. I am looking forward to catching a Striper on a fly I tied and a Rod I built. Does any one know who to make fly line?
  23. Thanks guys I will let you know how is goes.
  24. I will get you the 5$'s tonight if you go fishing, and I hope that I can win it back before the night is done. Let's say first to five. A little healthy competition always makes a fishing trip fun and makes for great bragging rights the next day. See ya
  25. Steve what area do you fish when the water is low. We got yelled at by some locals walking over the bridge that we where to close to the dam. On nice man actually informed me and my friend that we where both dumb asses which is always nice to know. Two different people did say that some one died there in that last couple of weeks.
