OK...having just found this, I feel the urge to reply... This is Mrs. Ducky, and in light of other threads, I feel compelled to point out that I do NOT appear in calendars, except as actually fishing. And if I did catch that 15+ brown, well, I'll post that pic all over the place! Now, a calendar with "fly of the month" and recipes sounds pretty good...however, you scare me with the thought of...well, most of it! And furthermore, Leonard, how are we supposed to keep this fishing affair quiet if you are blabbing about it on the forum???

Actually, I've combined all I learned in this thread. When I did my tying tonight, I tied balloons in when the thread broke. They floated right to the ceiling!

Mrs. Ducky is letting me loose on the world tomorrow! I am going to head down to the dam around 9:30. I will be in one of the outlets (hopefully not over my head!) and reeling in the big ones on my wife's hand-tied flies. Wondering ? can you fish tues , wed , thurs and friday ?or is only on sat , sun , or monday , and can you just show up and fish ? is there fee's and anywhere below the park can you get access and mayby bring home some dinner?

Mrs. Ducky again...and as a teacher, I want to weigh in again. I try hard to use proper grammar and punctuation, even on here. (That's how you can tell if it's me or Mr. Ducky. He never capitalizes anything!) However, I also don't want anyone to think I'm going to tear them apart if they don't. It has it's place, and on here, we are worried about the fishing, not the writing. (Although Terry's pieces are great!) We use a lot of slang and "short fors", which some people are not as familiar with. You can tell who spends too much time online! That being said, there are ways to figure them out. www.dictionary.com seems to include them in their listings. So, if you are unsure what lol means, or CMA (or CMR, gundog), you can look it up and not have to ask. All in all, this started as a simple question, and has become a major conversation about the downfall of the English language. It is evolution, and is caused by the passage of time. Look at Shakespeare's plays...they are made a lot longer by all the footnotes explaining what a word meant then, and why the jokes were funny! In another 400 years, who knows what English will look like...or if it will still be in use! Heck, by then we may all use telepathy! Meanwhile, back at the ranch...how 'bout those Colts?

Mr. Ducky makes fun of my improvisations, but I'm glad I'm not the only one! Make up boxes, craft boxes, and children's toys can make great fly boxes. Look around...you might be surprised by what you have around the house! As for Terry...what kind of pain killers are you still taking, man???

Looks good to me! You are going to be your own worst critic. Relax, have fun, and let the fish decide how it looks! (I say this because I have tied some that never saw the light of day!) To make the eggs rounder, you have to cut close to the eye and quick. (I got some advice on this last week at the fly tying class at Lilley's.) Don't hesitate, just cut. Jeremy's were perfectly round. Mine still have a little tail, but it's getting better. I think I let the foam slip a little when I start cutting. Have fun!
