  1. I believe my thread has been hijacked with this pee-hole discussion. So I get all the notifications of responses.. I will stop notifications to me on my thread..
  2. RPS (nice to hear from you again- I am not at Holiday Island anymore). I guess I should have clarified "fast".. in a small boat 37 IS fast. My Starcraft 22' fiberglass deck boat with a Suzuki (I think 140) Did 43 gps- stripped down weight.. Now my old Ranger 340V with the OVERPOWERED (pos) Evinrude 175 ran 69mph "GPS" ran like a striped posterior ape. Chine walking MF, but then my 2002 Startos 18XL with the 150 Ficht did 70 on Table Rock on a glass water day & ran as smooth (no gear, 1/4 tank & a THINNER LIGHTER me), ... I am probably too old & unstable for all that anymore. Mpw I just want to hop from cove to cove & fish. For my purpose this 90 will push this Alum 1860 around just fine !
  3. REPORT : Bought it today.1860 all welded. This was the set up I have been looking for, for a long time Test ride was great. ran quiet ,smooth & popped up very quick. Water a little choppy, I am not use to these tunnel hulls but it went fast enough for a fast slap on the surface. Good electronic, 2 props, 2 trolling motors (one hand & 1 foot control), Nice thick alum trailer, boat in very good condition. Got a pretty good deal so I am happy with this purchase.
  4. Ok, Ill put you down in the "JUST RUN" column !
  5. I have never had a smaller motor like this 90 4 stroke. Looking forward to putting it thru MY erratic driving !I will report back tomorrow night. Hope I get the answers I NEED, not necessarily what I want to hear... I have no problem driving back empty handed. At least I take my camera gear with me so it wont be a wasted trip.. One cool pic makes it worth it. Bringing back a boat even better !!!
  6. Makes sense since oil is not suppose to be in the gas..(like a 2 stroke)..
  7. Thanks.. by the way, I also read that 4 strokes dont smoke ? Is THAT true ?
  8. That is encouraging. Thanks for your reply. Not actually being there (4 hr drive) I can only research so much from here. I am planning on driving the 4 hrs & test driving tomorrow morning. I JUST read this " """Four-Stroke results should be somewhere in the 180-210 PSI range. These are good readings. Now it is important to note here that you might see 150 or 160 PSI on certain engines when doing this test. Simply open up the throttle plates by pressing the throttle handles on the control box to wide-open throttle in neutral. This will allow more air into the system, and you should see the readings come up to that 180 or so range.""""
  9. Finally found a 2009 boat and motor I want BUT....it has a used 2009 Yamaha 90 4 stroke that came with the boat new.. It has 500 hours but compression readings are ALL 150.. I read that 4 stroke compression should be 180-210. What do you make of this compression ? The boat is 4 hours away, with all the cylinders reading the same @ 150, should I believe this is ok & test drive the boat ? Or should I just run. I had alot of questions so the dealer asked the owner call me & naturally the owner said it ran great and never had a problem. Trading it in on a new boat. (lets say I am not very trusting when it comes to lots of money) darn It I wish I could just afford new !
  10. I had a medical issue that I didnt think I would ever be boating again. Well, I am lucky & I am back !!!! Back to looking at used boats again. I have a question. Will running the ECM diagnostics verify motor hours AND current compression on a 4 stroke ? Thanks, Will
  11. Sold Jan20.
  12. No thank you. I will probably be selling off my tackle soon as well..
  13. "for a boat which I am no longer going to buy"... I had a medical issue over the winter. No longer will be getting a boat and do not need this unit. Do y'all agree with my price ? Too high ? (Lowered price Jan 19. 7am) I figured The used unit @ $175 The used transducer @ $75 the used Navionics chip @ $50 I can not sell separate.
  14. SOLD HDI TechnologyThe Lowrance Elite 7 HDI has the benefit of two imaging systems. It features the Hybrid Dual Imaging that gives you in addition to high resolution DownScan Imaging the BroadBand sounder. So you can view both the bottom under the boat and fish structure and archesIncludes unit, (larger) transducer, mount, snap on cover & Navionics HotMaps Premium South micro ship & adapter (already installed) (plus a 12 volt fused ac adapter to verify it works) Built in internal GPS antenna.*Bought used in Omaha Nebraska in October for a boat which I am no longer going to buy.
  15. Yes this would be ideal, but traveling it becomes a pain trying to coordinate it “on the spot”. The few boats ago, I had a shop check the compression, took them a week to get it in. I was “Suppose” to be there to see it myself. Compression ended up being suspicious anyway. A couple of weeks ago, in Bella Vista, I was on a weeks waiting list to get shop time to check the compression.. Another buyer bought it from under me without checking it over.
  16. Would you let a potential buyer for your boat personally check the compression of your motor ? I’ve been looking around for the boat I want, but I am always burdened by getting someone to check the compression. I have never personally performed a compression check, but it does not look to difficult. I’m not sure I would let a stranger take tools to my motor.. What’s your thoughts on this.
  17. With THOSE prices, im surprised they dont come up missing more often.
  18. Nevermind. This unit Elite 7HDI is not a TOUCHSCREEN... Duhhhhhh
  19. 2 prong supply. I was thinking about the 110V outlet ground.. Then I would have to touch the ground to ground ME then I could touch the screen ( in theory)...This is my obsession for the day. Looking for an old 3 prong cord to sacrifice.
  20. Figured out this Elite 7HDI is NOT a touchscreen..
  21. I stubbled on this online. I have no experience with this place, but seems someone was looking for a cowl cover.. Here is a bunch. MOTOR COWL COVERS
  22. and THATS why they make headphones a lot cheaper than a divorce... ( dont ask how I know this)... LOL
