  1. This thread is getting kinda long....
  2. My batteries are under my seats, not in the bilge. Now if I could always remember to shut everything off each night...
  3. Last year I installed one of these battery disconnect switches on my boats starting battery. Every night, I turn the disconnect a few times to disconnect all power to my starting battery. In MY application, the battery isn't real accessible, so I have to reach under & back & feel for the disconnect and Loosen or tighten by hand. All had been going well. Until yesterday. I was fishing on the north of Eagle Rock Marina. When I went to fire up the motor- NOTHING-NO POWER AT ALL ! I instantly thought about the wind blowing my fiberglass boat up on a rock bank. I scrambled checking the main fuse then decided to troll around the point to get out of the wind. I did so & threw my anchor up shallow and started to check things out. I carry jumper cables in case I need to jump off my trolling battery (yeah, I'm freaking like that). When I pulled the battery where I could get at it, I noticed that the disconnect I installed was on cockeyed and was not making a good connection. Apparently the night before I loosened the thumbwheel TOO much & when I tighten it in the morning it just didn't seat properly- not being able to easily see it, I didn't notice. Straightened it & retightened the wheel & all is good. I am attaching a photo of one similar to what I have installed. Just wanted to share incase anyone has one of these things. The jury is out if im keeping this thing or not. ALSO I'd like to thank the nice couple that was fishing in the area & offered their assistance to me TWICE. Very nice of you to offer ! Bill
  4. Is there still an active administrator on this forum ?
  5. thanks, But- now I remember why I retired early. Looking back at that post & how I solved it- I have no idea if I could ever follow my own instructions.. Any to think, I use to perform real-time monitoring & operation of the national electric grid. Actually I think that stress caused me to be the way I am now...
  6. Thanks. They want an arm & a leg to replace my 24V hand control bow mount.
  7. I have only caught them when I was close enough to a busting school. Only last a few minutes until they are gone... Both times near H.I. marina (summer & fall)
  8. By the way, the Trolling motor repair turned out just perfectly !
  9. Exactly, we have enjoyed the whites firm white meat (shh, don't say it) . Besides proper cleaning- I also soak all my fish in cold salt water for 5-10 minutes-rinse, pat dry, vacuum seal & freeze.
  10. How can I change my display name ? I can't do it by editing my profile. Thanks, Bill * I am having 2nd thoughts on using my real name Displayed..
  11. Thanks for all the replies.. I got it now, no min length limit on Whites. Only 4 or your daily limit of 15 can be over 18". Now all I have to do is find them more often.
  12. Ok, I think I just found the answer.. 15" is minimum keeper White Bass. Only 4 of your keepers can be over 18"..
  13. This regulation confuses me .. (4) Length Limits: No length limits, except the daily limit of white bass, yellow bass, striped bass and their hybrids may include not more than four (4) fish more than eighteen inches (18") in total length.
  14. What is the Minimum keeper size if 11 have to be SHORTER than 18" ?
  15. White bass, striper, hybrid bass- 15 total daily (only 4- 18 inches or longer can be kept in a daily limit), 30 possession. So the size Limit on White bass on Table Rock is 18" ? Thanks for the clarification..
  16. Im just working myself away from Holiday Island Marina. I did find lots of Snakes in a small cove near Housman access...Yipes !
  17. Im gonna eat the oysters & clams & dip a jig in the oil & see what happens.
  18. Found some small diameter solid copper wire @ Powells & did as suggested. Don't know why I never thought of this myself. Thanks for the suggestion. Got a good start on them (until I got bored). Bill
  19. No idea on Trout keeper size.. I better get myself up to speed on that !
  20. Love the Sigma 10-20 ( and Lightroom to correct).. Great combination.
  21. What do y'all do to keep the skirts on your jigs. Seems evertime I use an oily fish attractant, the little rubber band comes loose and the skirt ends up on the bend of the hook.
  22. Fine cuisine AND you get to watch football... Life if good !
