  1. Babler and myself got over to Long Creek for most of the afternoon yesterday. Put in at Yocum and fished several flats for crappie and/or whites. Sorry no temp gage but the water was perfect color and with the wind and 77 degrees the water must have warmed into the low 50's, at least on the surface. We set the boat in 15-20 feet and fished toward the bank, working out 1/4 oz jigs with swimming minnows right on the bottom. We caught 2 keepers and 3 short with a few small bass mixed in. No real patterns except they were in 15 feet of water on the bottom. Purple was the best color. We fished all my best places- mouth of Yocum, just inside the bridge, up in Long one bend and then the second by the small rock bluff on the left. Fished the big point just down from Yocum and traveled down to Cricket and fished the flat on the right. The water was colored up more heading down Long towards Cricket and the marina. Lots of debry floating. We both thing it won't be long before everything busts loose. A guy pulling out when we went in- we think he had his limit of nice crappie but we didn't ask him where he caught them. An older gent told us what he caught when we pulled out so they're there if you can find them. One of my keepers was 14+.
  2. Table Rock turns once- it did back in December. Remember why it turns and you won't ask that question again. It's muddy because of last week's rain.
  3. This am I heard several reports of whites in Beaver. White sliders at dark from the bank and boat.
  4. If you love basketball... colege basketball... treat yourself to a day or two at C of O and lots of b-ball. National tournament starts at 8 am tomorrow. 8 games a day for three days in a row. Dad and I volunteer at one of the gates for the next two mornings and get to see all games free as well as other "treats". But the biggest treat is watching lots of basketball. The only down side is that the white bass are always starting to make noise about now so it's hard to be inside when the lakes and creeks are calling. My buddy Vince is in charge of maintenance at the gymnasium so he's stuck too... at least we're stuck together. It really is alot of fun.
  5. Tell us more... I heard yesterday they were in before the last rain... temps in the lower 50's. I would think they'd be running in and out by now- early, late in the day and at night. Also know of some huge whites caught at Snapp 2 weeks ago giving me some hope that this year may be a good year for Beaver and Swan Creeks.
  6. John- find out if there's an address where someone can send a check. I'd rather not give 4% to paypal if I can help it. Thanks for posting this. While I don't know Duane, I appreciate what he's done.
  7. Thanks- our members and viewers make the site so congrats!
  8. Delta Queen- I liked your Buffalo video.
  9. Usually the Corp doesn't slow generation down till Table Rock drops below the 915 mark but they dropped 2 units this morning making it alot easier to get a bug or bait to the bottom. And what a day to be fishing... a little breeze and sunny. A few boats out today. I've been tied up with little, nagging things so I can't get out. You'll just have to imagine how good it is today.
  10. Don- have you heard anything about the Corp shutting down Bull Shoals Dam and holding the water in Bull Shoals? I know they do this every year- something to do with farmers in the lower delta. BS is already up 6 feet over power pool and rising. They've shut down 2 of 4 units at Table Rock this morning.
  11. I would love to see the stats from Kansas and Oklahoma's smallmouth stockings. Any other data/studies to bolster Ned's case.
  12. Thank you, sir. Great report.
  13. http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/tournam...tory?id=3285242 Nevermind... I found it.
  14. Where was this one held?
  15. Glad you're here...
  16. Thanks for the pic...
  17. I got out today. Went downstream looking for whites and crappie- nothing. Lake temp - 41. Went up in Roark - 44 at the bridges. Good color water. Did catch a dozen rainbows in front of the single dock on the east bank across the channel and off the tree line. Jig and float- 5 feet deep, white jig or sculpin. Headed to the dam after a short break and tried white 1/8th oz jigs- caught 2 rainbows. Drifted on down to Andy's house and started there on the west side (shallow side) and drifted with spin gear a #10 gray scud 2 fly rig with a #4 split shot. Caught 8 on the first pass and 9 on the second. Half were smaller than 12 and half were 12-14 inches. Drifted on down to Short Creek and caught 6 more, again staying on the shallow side. But subed out on scud for a red san juan and caught half on it.
  18. Jsut received word that the Corp will very soon be shutting Bull Shoals down for the farmers on the lower White River and Bull Shoals will fill up like a bathtub. This is an annual occurance- nothing new. That's the way they designed BS- to hold alot of spring rain water.
  19. You should be able to. I did notice when I was helping Tim with his from photobucket- the first pic on your page is in a gallery. Click the images and then right click your mouse to get the image location. Or I think photobucket gives you the image link but in a couple of formats. You want the one with no tags. Not sure what they call it. If you still have trouble, email me the url to your account or gallery and I'll look at it. We'll get it.
  20. 20 pound trout? Pics please!!
  21. Kings River is a great river to float... you're fortunate to live close to it. Welcome.
  22. I would think the agency's mindset would be this: if it's not broke, don't fix it. Taneycomo, although narrow and heavily traveled, has not had any serious boating accidents in recent history. On the other hand, Table Rock and Lake of the Ozarks, on these lakes every season people are killed in boating accidents. Those lakes are where most if not all the patrolling needs to be done to try to enforce the laws on the books to try to lower the numbers of accidents. Taney has virtually zero accidents and no deaths due to boating accidents. Now- if that changes... yes they will try to fix it by making new rules. But until then, they won't change a thing.
  23. Quick look-through on their site and I didn't see anything... could you give us alittle more info???
  24. Hotspot called me almost 2 years ago and haven't heard anything since...
  25. Oh believe me- he had NO strength at all... not for a while. His game went to pot too.
