  1. No hook restriction. I have no experience using red hooks. Patterns - there's no bad pattern. I've caught alot of browns on brown, rainbow, shad, gold, clown... many others. I use mainly rapala but others use rogues and pointers.
  2. 11/23 is already taken... pick another birthday. Here's the dates so far- 11/23 12/25 1/7 1/16 1/28 2/14 3/15 3/22 4/1 4/7 4/9 4/15 4/20 5/18 6/1 7/12 8/2
  3. Cooper Creek Public Access is off Fall Creek Rd. FC runs from 165 (where Fall Steak House burned) to 76 near the Pizza Hut. Follow the signs to Cooper Creek Resort. The turn off is 2 miles from 76, 3 miles from 165.
  4. Whatever... you got till Nov 1. Did you get a sign?
  5. Forgot- if no one gets it on the money, we'll go to the closest. If we have a tie... I'll think of something.
  6. Those that have followed my adventure this summer already have heard about this place, but I wanted to bring it up again because the calendar is already filling up for next summer. http://naknekrivercamp.net/index.html He's also offering a fish-on-your-own rate of $1395, lodging, meals and a boat. I'll be spending part of the summer up there... haven't decided just how long as of yet but it will be substancial.
  7. ??? There's a hidden meaning in that statement.
  8. I thought I'd do something fun here... Guess the date the counter hits 4,000,000 and win 3 night stay here at the Landing worth $265.00. You get one guess. Post the date and year. Only one date can be picked. I'll post a compilation of dates taken every once in a while. Deadline on 'guessing' is November 1, 2006.
  9. I need to book a cruise for next August for our family. It's my parents 50th aniversary and that's what they want to do. Anyone have any experience with them? I've heard the Princess is the best for intercostal waters... getting closer to the wildlife. Cleaner. We aren't interested in shows or gambling. Thanks!!
  10. I got into a long conversation with Fox Statler at the conclave. Haven't seen him since last year's conclave and all he could talk about is the chicken-debacle. He knows ALOT of the subject- had my head spinning with all the politics and facts about chicken droppings and such. I'll drop him an email and see if he'd share some of it with us- it's really interesting stuff.
  11. Bill has been guiding everyday... he should be reporting real soon.
  12. I love fleece! Fingerless... and if it's really cold, I put a pair of thin poly gloves under them.
  13. I have an article on using stick baits for browns called Big Baits- look under the article section under Taneycomo. I think most of your questions will be answered. If not- check back.
  14. Look at the map-link under the pinned forum - Taneycomo. These are just below the dam, only accessed by wading if the water is off.
  15. They've been lined up for weeks at #2... "it's isn't just for autumn". There are a good number of browns already below the dam. Many of them in the 16-24 inch range. They are skiddish during the day unless it's windy or cloudy. Of course there are a bunch around outlet #2 during the day... but there are lots at rebar and below rebar to big hole.

  17. Medium to large floating stick baits thrown at night either from a boat or wading. Wading- below the dam down to Lookout is accessable. From a boat- from Lookout down to our place. You have a fairly good chance to hang a big one.
  18. Thought I'd throw this back into the lime-light... anyone want to take a stab!?
  19. You fishing Table Rock? If so, I'll move you so it will get more play. pl
  20. What browser do you use? I use netscape- and created this in netscape. I looked at it using explorer- the text is different sizes and fonts... but it looks ok. I'll recreate it in dreamweaver and see what happens. Try this - http://ozarkanglers.com/wrj/10-06.htm
  21. There are 3 brothers in a Ranger V-bottom bass boat fishing above Fall Creek- all fly fishing. They have done well so far this week, catching fish on scuds and midges, mostly scuds fished on the bottom. See Linc in the office for the right flies and talk to Rolan- he'll be the one running the trolling motor.
  22. Special bait = night crawlers and marshmellows! Just ask Lincoln.
  23. I will talk to Rolan Duffield while he's here. He's built rods for years and I'm sure would be happy to come down and do a class.
  24. Thanks Gary for introducing yourself. I think you'll find some great help in catching more smallmouth here... there's some great smallmouth opportunities in this area! Welcome.
  25. Here's the link to the newsletter - enjoy! http://ozarkanglers.com/wrj/10-06.php If you don't like that format, try this one - http://ozarkanglers.com/wrj/10-06.html
